Acquaintance: idk breastfeeding uncovered seems really inappropriate

Me: why?

A: well it makes me uncomfortable

Me: some people feel uncomfortable around little kids, or dogs. Some are uncomfortable around people who have special needs or speak a different language. Some people are uncomfortable around somebody who says they’re a freaking vegan.

But nothing’s wrong with those things. Why, then, is breastfeeding suddenly a problem because it “makes you uncomfortable”?

The fact that you’re uncomfortable says nothing about whether something is appropriate.
