after laughter: okay so i feel like a lot of people see tell me how in a totally different way than i do? i see people talking about it in like a very sad manner and to me it has always come off more as like a song of acceptance and hope for the future, even if you’re sad now.

ooo do you have anything to say about california accents? i don’t Think i have an accent but one time i was talking to my best friend in front of some girls from chicago and they were staring at us and i was like ‘ya what’s up?’ and they were like ‘you guys talk so fucking fast that we can barely understand you.’ is that a california thing or ??

most people don’t THINK they have an accent, but i would say that there’s definitely a cali accent, even beyond like the stereotypical “valley girl” thing. i don’t necessarily think i’ve heard of “fast” speech as being a cali feature though, that would be something i would more think of for new york/the east coast??
