Have I told y’all about April’s radio broadcast?

She’s got a secret pro mutant channel running out of an abandoned radio station she sneaks away to. Everything was of course very broken when she first found the place, else it would have been scavenged a while back, but she knows a thing or two about machines and has enough stubbornness to move mountains, so she mannaged to get enough things working to be able to send out a signal. Now she’s just gotta wait and hope there are other people out there tuning in to her frequency.

Same age as Don and Leon, so 17 at the start of the main story

Her parents, Carol and Kirby O’Neil, are on the Purple Dragon Council and are lobbying for mutant rights but she’s frustrated with their lack of success and has decided to take matters into her own hands vigilante style

Trained as a mutant hunter but quit to work as a scavenger instead

Spends most of her days exploring abandoned buildings, collecting pieces of electronics, and fixing things people try to tell her can’t be fixed

By night though, she tails bands of mutant hunters and tries to sabotage them so the mutants can get away

Also, she’s intersex and on estrogen (kind of hard to find in the apocalypse but her parents have pulled some strings to make it work) She’s not particularly secretive about it or anything, she just doesn’t see why what’s in her skirt would be anybody else’s business
