WAIT OMG THE SAME ITUNES THING HAPPENED TO ME AFTER THE 12.2 OR WHATEVER IT WAS UPDATE. CAN YOU HELP ME GET MY SONGS BACK PLS??????????
Yeah sure! What I did was first quit iTunes, and assuming you have a Mac, go to your Finder > Music > iTunes > Previous iTunes Libraries. In that folder, hopefully you see documents with the extension .itl with a date precedent to when you updated your iTunes to 12.2.
Given that you have that one file, go back to the main iTunes folder and find a file that is named “iTunes Library.itl” and rename it to whatever you want, as long as it is different. I just added “corrupted” at the end of mine. If you also see a file named “iTunes Music Library.xml”, rename that too.
Now going back to the file you found in your “Previous iTunes Libraries” folder, rename it “iTunes Library.itl” and drag it to the main iTunes folder.
Now, open up iTunes, and this should have restored your songs from the moment prior to the update you made.
