It's not a dumb question! First, go find the song in your library.
When you look at the song there will be a timecode at the far right, that will turn into a three-dots icon when you select the song. If you haven't downloaded it yet, there will also be a cloud with an arrow next to the three-dots icon. Click the cloud to download it.
Then click the three-dots icon and you'll get a little menu. On Windows 10, "show in windows explorer" is the option you want. On Mac it should have something similar. That will pop open a file explorer window and you can copy the files from there to an alternate location.
This might be different in different versions, but the concept should stay working across versions. If yours doesn't have this option, you can look at your preferences to find your library location, then browse to it and go through the library folders to find the file - this way is quicker, though.
