On Monday, the martingale I used was really weird (it had big loops on both sides and it was probably too short for my horse). Not only that, but the saddle I used was absolute crap. (Note to self- even if jumping, get a deeper saddle rather than use that terrible saddle) I don’t the humidity or the rain helped either.
