9: forehead kiss
He knew he probably shouldn’t be in there - after all, it wasn’t like Raven and him were particularly … close. There were probably a ton of people she would rather have with her than him. People like Finn. Like Clarke. But even if he would never have voiced it, he cared about Raven. And the sound of her screams echoing through the camp, earlier, had rippled through him, left a pounding in his ears. She was in pain and indirectly, it was his fault. It had all started with him and Murphy : Raven had been caught in the crossfire. And now, there was a chance she’d bear that mark forever. She was asleep. Sweat still glistened on her forehead. Clarke’s mother threw Bellamy a quick glance as he entered the room - he nodded at her, but remained quiet in order not to wake up Raven. They were going to go look for Clarke and the others. Raven wouldn’t get to go with them - she needed to recover. Raven, more than almost anybody, needed to live. This wasn’t about affection or friendship, but about survival : Raven was capable of incredible things, things that had the power to save them all. She had proved that several times. They couldn’t lose her. He remained there for a few seconds, watching her sleeping form, studying the expression on her face as her eyes remained closed. Even in sleep, she looked exhausted, small. Younger, somehow. As for him, he couldn’t linger there for too long. He had things to do. He had to take action - there were others to find. "You’ll be okay, Raven", he murmured, too low for Abby Griffin to hear him. "Get better. We all need you.”He hesitated before bending down and pressing a quick kiss on her warm forehead. Some sort of ache formed in his chest, a sort of yearning to see her open her eyes and smile, simply a reassurance that she’d be okay - but she didn’t. She kept sleeping, which was probably for the best. So he straightened his back and walked out of the tent.
