Another first day, another batch of students coming through, hoping to absorb some wisdom from the group of professors. Ivar acccepted that the poisition was one of renown and admiriation, but working with teenagers wasn’t his favorite thing in the world, by a long shot; most of them barely wanted to pay attention on thwir own, and he often found himself adjusting the emotions in the room to help him along. Mostly it was an unconcious thing, something that merely happened on its own. Others he actively lowered or raised the emotions of his students, helping them to focus.
Therer were classes he enjoyed teaching, of course; hand to hand combat was one, as well as the history of espionage and assassination. He enjoyed teaching the future assassins of the world the history of the art, the secret societies inside of governments.
What better way to start this school year than wwith his favorite subject of all, power control. It was a good way for him to scope out the mutations and special abilities of those that may, someday, become targets or enemies. To see the limits of their abilities, to find blockers for them, ways to avoid and gain the upper hand.
Ivar was still a killer, after all.
Sauntering into the classroom, he scanned the room quickly, looking around at the handful of students; there were only about five of them this semester, a smaller grouping than previous years. His job was to help them unlock their full potential, to open them up to bigger things, see the full reach of their powers.
“Good morning,” he greeted, tone even and neutral, unaffected and bored. “You may address me as Ivar or Professor Eliasson. This course will help you unlock your full power potential. Some of you will also be in my hand to hand combat classes later this week; I do hope you can keep up.”
