Retrieval Results
Yesterday was our retrieval. We had to be at the clinic for 7am and thankfully, as this is our second round… my nerves were at ease as I knew exactly what to expect. They sent me to the back with two of my favorite nurses so that was great… we giggled a lot. They take your vitals, and then the anesthesiologist comes in. I have been EXHAUSTED for two days prior to this no matter how many naps I took so I was excited to see her.
Next thing was the IV, which to this day I still can’t stand when people put needles in me. Ironic huh since I just spent a few weeks sticking myself with one multiple times a day lol. We sat in the room chatting until the “OR room” was ready for me. I walked over, they set me up on the table… which is completely uncomfortable and boom it was lights out.
I woke up in recovery where I stayed till they got me “with it” well enough to walk. I met my hubby in the waiting room and off we went.
I found out later they retrieved 18 eggs (holy crap!). I spent most of the day asleep… pretty sure I was only awake for maybe 3 hours in total the entire day lol. It felt glorious.
Today I found out that out of the 18 eggs they retrieved, 15 are growing the way that they should. We officially have 15 em-babies… so exciting!!! They’re going to call me tomorrow with the next update. And now we wait… did I mention how much I hate waiting??
