her head tilted back slightly, eyes unwaveringly fixed on his. her lips compressed into a delicate line as she slowly nodded, a silent affirmation. every fiber of her being screamed against letting him walk away, against allowing whatever intangible connection had been simmering between them to dissolve into nothingness. “don’t go…” the words escaped her lips softly, carried not by sheer strength but by a fragile, burgeoning courage. she wasn’t certain which emotion propelled her — fear, hope, or longing — but she was profoundly grateful for having found the voice to speak. “…it was worth it for me, too. i’d do it all over again.”
