How Are Stem Cells Administered?
Stem cells can be given to patients in different ways — depending on the disease being treated and the area of the body that needs repair.
Here are the most common methods: 1️⃣ Intravenous (IV) Infusion – Stem cells are delivered through a vein, allowing them to travel throughout the body and target damaged tissues. 2️⃣ Intrathecal (Lumbar Puncture) – Used for neurological conditions; stem cells are injected into the spinal fluid to reach the brain and spinal cord. 3️⃣ Local or Site-Specific Injection – Directly administered to the affected area (like joints, eyes, or heart) for targeted healing.
