Sebastian Kingsley was, and still is, a rather interesting character. Kind and caring, to those close to him especially, he could also be somewhat stuck up, almost displaying what could be interpreted as a superiority complex, a characteristic influenced by his intelligence, and the wealth accumulated by his family over his years. But, with his charisma and charm, it was a characteristic that was more endearing than anything. People could easily move past that part of him, and appreciate the sweet side to him.
Spending move of his early years in San Francisco, he was 16 years old when the family relocated to Los Angeles, something that to an extent, affected his relationship with his parents. They’d have a pretty normal relationship up until that point, but he grew distant from them when his Mother became focused on his brother’s career, and this fact was a part of his decision to study at Oxford when he was accepted, jumping across the pond to begin his undergraduate course, earning a Bachelors Degree in Law, his first step towards becoming a barrister.

winter officially arrived in toronto the day petra was born , an unusually early flurry arriving in mid october — her parents expected her to be akin to the snow that came with her : beautiful , but cold . however , petra only held on to the beauty of the frost . her disposition , much to her parents’ content , was much sunnier than they’d anticipated .
she’s the youngest of the faisal family , blessed with two older brothers that taught her a lot about winning fights and fending for herself ... lovingly , of course . they’re a tight - knit group , and petra wouldn’t trade her brothers for the world ... even if they have a tendency to be a little overprotective ( still , to this day ! ) .

while esme should have been enrolled in kindergarten by the time she was five, she actually spent her childhood years on the road with whatever band her mother was hanging out with at the time, surrounded by men and women that were complete strangers to her. due to her addiction to cocaine and heroin, emma would often leave esme alone for days at a time with friends; no food or water or comfort given to her during that time. the times that she was around, esme wish she wouldn’t be as she was always with men who reeked of booze and who she would watch inject her mother with whatever drug of choice was wanted that night. child services were called when esme was six and her mother had no choice but to put her groupie lifestyle on hold. she got a part-time job as a waitress and they rented a sketchy one-bedroom apartment in downtown new york while esme went to school. her mother was honestly… a horrible and really messed up woman. by the time she was nine emma would often make comments that her daughter was trying to steal whatever boyfriend she was with a time ( srsly.. she was fucked up ) and anything she would say to her would be taken the wrong way. she lived in that hell up until she was twelve and after coming home from school one day, esme found her mother on the bathroom floor dead from an overdose. that’s when keaton was finally notified he had a daughter.

it’s the first day of 1994 when he’s born ... his mother always regards him as lucky because of it . but as far as darcy’s concerned , his birth was his last charmed experience .
his father is the ceo and majority shareholder of albrecht assest management inc — the ruler of a billion - dollar real estate empire — and his mother takes the liberty of staying home to bond with her newborn son . this is how it is for many years : just darcy and his mom . dad’s too busy with another meeting , or another flight , or another press junket . needless to say , he bonds with his mother much more than his father . he’s happy this way .

this was hard on the entire family . his father buried himself in his work , coming around to see darcy even less now . the rest of his high school years were spent mostly with tutors and his butler , benedict , who became something of a parental figure to him . darcy was lucky to have resources available to him that made the transition easier , but that didn’t mean it didn’t take a toll on his psyche .
darcy lacked someone to really lean on , so he took it upon himself to stand up on his own — he felt the need to grow up quickly . he was a very independent child , and that translated to his adult life too .
