Phoebe hadn’t expected to run into someone she sort-of knew. Oh, it wasn’t like she’d ever talked to him. The Elite Four didn’t do much during the Ever Grande Conference until someone won and then the real battle began. But she had kept a close eye on it, even if she’d been busy training at Mt. Pyre while most of the matches had been going on. What? Girl had to be ready. The Conference wasn’t the only way to battle the Elite Four, you could really battle them at any time you wanted, but the Conference was the best way to see if you were ready. Many people came to the League who simply weren’t ready, herself included when she’d first challenged them.
If she remembered right, he’d been in the Top 8, which was a pretty big accomplishment. Hmm, thinking about it, she’d never gotten a chance to congratulate him, had she? She’d barely shown up in time for the Elite Four battles, so there’d been no time for her to congratulate the Top 8 trainers. Well, better late than never.
She ran up to him, a large smile on her face. “Hi! I’m Phoebe, the ghost-type master of Hoenn’s Elite Four! We never met, but I saw your battle at the Ever Grande Conference. I’m really late on this, but good job getting so far! Are you planning to ever compete at the Conference again? Oooh, or you could just challenge us. You were really good back then so you must be even better now!”
