Who you gonna call? please not me I want to rest (Closed Event- Phoebe)
Ah, the famed Sunyshore City: most well-known for itâs use of clean energy and bright skiesâŠthough, all of it was just simply too bright and hot for him to handle right about now. Ugh. He knew he was used to the heat when wearing darker clothes like this, but this was just simply all a bit too much. Time to go to a nice spot in the shadeâŠor maybe the edges of the town that led to the Pokemon League to sit near the ocean.
Except it seemed like someone had the same idea - a big group of people, for that matter, he spied as soon as he decided on slinking to the more shaded parts of town. OhâŠso many people in the one spot would be noisy. He should go elsewhere.
Yet he overheard something aboutâŠnastily-spoken demands, which made him frown. Wait, and did the three people facing the girl with flowers in her hair just send out a Garchomp? This looked like a really awful situation. As much as he wanted to just sleep, he couldnât ignore this. Stepping forth, as the Garchomp was ordered to attack the girl herself - he reacted, flinging forth a Pokeball.
The Garchompâs Dragon Claw struck the hard shell of his defensive Shuckle, Strawberry, who wiggled around in amusement. Oh? Sheâd never gotten to play with a dragon before! This seemed like fun! Meanwhile Dwyer knewâŠthere was the risk the dragon knew fire moves, but seeing as theyâd tried to attack so quick, heâd sent out Strawberry as a protective measure.
âHeyâŠ.you okay there? I canât believe these jerksâŠjust tried to attack a trainer themselves. Thatâs really rude. Iâve got your back on thisâŠand Iâll help you in the battle, if you need it.â
Looks likeâŠit would be needed, as the two other garishly-dressed trainers sent out two MORE GarchompâŠtwo against three fully-evolved Pokemon? What the heck were these three trying to take from the girl that was this serious?! This was extremely illegal he just wanted to rest??
Phoebe had experienced a lot of weird things, but a Ranger just shoving an egg into her hands before running was certainly near the top of that list. She lifted the egg up a bit, the sun catching on its sheâll just so, making its colors stand out and shine. Sheâd never even taken care of an egg before! Now she was sure sheâd make an amazing mother to whatever Pokemon hatched from it, but how would she even get it to hatch? She frowned, trying to call up the little bit she knew about Pokemon eggs, when someone demanded she hand the egg over. She turned towards the voice, scowling as she found three men leering at her. Her arms tightened around the egg, cradling it to her chest.
A Pokeball was thrown and suddenly a Garchomp was in front of her. Her eyes darted to the side, where her Pokeballs currently laid. Of course the one time she really needed to battle to protect herself (and this egg), she wouldn't have her Pokeballs on hand. Just her luck. She turned her attention back to the men, giving them a disarming smile even as they leered at her. "Could you hold on for just one second? I don't have my Pokemon on me and this is just unfair." Her face fell as the Garchomp's trainer yelled an attack, closing her eyes tightly as she braced herself for the pain she knew was coming.
When the attack didn't land, she hesitantly opened her eyes. Another trainer and his Shuckle stood in front of her, causing her smile to return. "They didn't even have the manners to let me grab my Pokeballs," she sighed, shaking her head in disappointment. Then again, that was likely good for them, all things considered. One Garchomp wouldn't have been a major deal if she used the right Pokemon... Her eyes widened as two more were sent out. Three, on the other hand, was a bit much. A serious look crossed her face, eyebrows knitting together, as she said, "Cover me while I get my Pokemon. Then we can teach them some manners." Her second sentence ended in a sing-song note and then she was running to her Pokeballs.
She didn't dare leave the egg sitting there. Likely there were other people around trying to take it and putting it down would give them the chance to do just that. She shifted the egg into one arm as she grabbed a Pokeball. âOkay then! Go, Dusknoir!â There was a flash of light and a moment later her Dusknoir floated in front of her. It was still two against three (because unlike these people, Phoebe wasnât one to break the rules Pokemon battles were supposed to rely on).Â
She ran back to the other trainerâs side, Dusknoir following. She flung her arms out to the side, smiling brightly. âWell then, letâs get this going and kick their butts!â
âDusknoir, Ice Punch!â
âYouâre from Hoenn? Thatâs really nice~ Iâve never been there⊠Itâs a shame, since I hear they hold contests there as well. Maybe if I have time, I could visit~â
Blushing slightly because of the otherâs compliment, she released Tyli from its Pokeball. After an incident with her close friends, she hadnât doubted both of them would fit.
âIs this fine?â
âOh, youâre a contestant? Hehe, Iâm a battler, myself.â Says an Elite Four, failing to mention that particular fact. âContests seem interesting though. Maybe Iâll try them one day. If you ever do visit, you should ring me up! You could stay at my place.â Phoebe, youâve known her for five minutes. Stop.
She stared in awe at the Pokemon before nodding rapidly. âOf course itâs fine! Letâs go!â She paused for a moment before adding, âOne day Iâll have to repay the favor by flying us on Dusknoir!â
â i g-guess thatâs what weâll have to doâŠÂ â he says, resigning on the grass. â but then weâll have to take the long way around, right? aw, i just came from there! â his chest rises and falls with every heave of breath he takesâ god, is he tired.
â thereâs no other shortcuts⊠or anythingâŠ? â
âSo? Thatâll just make it more fun and give us more time to talk,â she said, voice taking on a slightly sing-song pitch. She didnât mind if the Snorlax didnât want to wake up. âMhm, I mean, we donât have to use the bridge,â she pointed out before literally pointing at the river. âWe could swim!â
;; i need to get stuff back up and running so hereâs an uncapped rp ad! this can also be an event starter if you want! just tell me and we can talk it out.
;; screams i kinda forgot i had phoebe? oops. but, uh, iâm back now! iâll do the replies i owe and also post an rp ad to get things back up and rolling. sorry!
Slaine didnât often take part in battles for sport, not having all that much free time for it now that he had eight badges. However, sometimes a trainer was just too enthusiastic when issuing a challenge to deny knowing the battle would be a good one. And this time it was - not the most intense battle heâd ever taken part in, but a good one nevertheless. Espeon curled around his legs as he spoke with the girl whoâd approached him after the battle, eyeing the Sableye distrustfully.
Slaine knew exactly who she was, versed in politics as he was, but he didnât point it out; he also knew from experience how frustrating it was to receive public attention. He bowed slightly, accepting her compliment.
âThank you for your kind words; Iâve actually collected eight badges already. Iâm taking a break before I challenge the elite four for other professional reasons, but I intend to challenge the Sinnoh league in the future.â He smiled dimly, used to speaking the words but not yet used to being unsure if they were true. âPerhaps if Iâm unsuccessful, Iâll be traveling to Hoenn next.â It might be nice visiting a region with a lot of water when he was so used to desert.
Sableye quickly noticed the distrustful look from the trainerâs Espeon, darting behind Phoebeâs legs while returning the look. She patted his head, quietly conveying to him not lash out at the Espeon. She didnât want him to get into a fight, not that he normally did but she knew the possibility was there. Sableye just slipped further behind her legs, staying quiet while his trainer talked.
She raised an eyebrow as the man bowed, unused to that. There were a few gym leaders and Elite Four in other regions who were as formal as this, but they all knew sheâd rather not be bowed to. They were all equals, so she didnât see the point of it. âWhy are you bowing. You donât need to bow to me, silly!â She stuck her tongue out at him, giggling a bit. She certainly wasnât one of the more mature members of the League.
âOooh, thatâs great! Good job! Iâm gonna have to keep an eye on the news to find out how your challenge goes. Hoenn is amazing, though Iâm biased since Iâm from there. Still, the weather there is way better.â She still wasnât used to places where it actually snowed. That was just unheard of in Hoenn. âBut donât think about stuff like that! Youâve gotta put all your energy into beating the Elite Four! Train hard and put your trust in your Pokemon and donât give up!â
âSorry, sorry!â Jyushi laughed as he casually apologized for his joke which was a little mean on his part. He watched the Banette leap into its trainerâs arms. He smiled at the sight, it reminded him of how his other Pokemon would act with him sometimes.Â
âI havenât spent time away from the city in a while! Baseball season is here and I need to stay in shape! But I think Iâll travel again soon!â Â He spoke while jokingly flexing. Ampharos tried to mimic its trainerâs stance as well.Â
Jyushi nodded enthusiastically when offered to join them on the Ferris wheel. Before the four of them boarded the Ferris wheel, Jyushi decided that maybe now would be a good time to introduce himself.Â
âIâm Jyushimatsu! I have really good luck and I can throw really far!â He spoke, voice overflowing with enthusiasm. He always mentioned the parts of himself he felt the most proud of in hopes of leaving a good first impression.Â
Bannette pouted for a few more moments before nodding, accepting the apology. Phoebe knew heâd hold onto that jab for a day or so, but then heâd completely forget about it, so she didnât worry much about it. She hugged Bannette tightly while nodding. âI donât have much time for traveling, so this is my present to myself!â Really it was Steven letting her take a vacation, but she was gonna keep saying it was her present to herself because sheâd been the one to suggest a vacation for the Elite Four. âSo youâre a baseball player? Thatâs so cool! You must be so strong!â
âHave you won any matches? Whatâs your team? Are you world famous?!â Phoebe, stop. Next youâll be asking for his life story. Bannette, still a little put out from his previous comment, flew out of Phoebeâs arms as he saw the Ampharos and trainer flexing. He tried to flex too, looking determined as he made the pose. âYes, yes, Bannette. Youâre very strong.â She patted his head, smiling gently at him.
She rocked on her heels as they waited to board the Ferris wheel. âIâm Phoebe! I trained on Mt. Pyre, where I learned to talk with ghosts!â she exclaimed, giving some of the same spiel she usually gave to challengers. âDo you carry around talismans for good luck or is it just natural?â
@ghostflxwers
Minato only needed to glance at this girl to pick up her vibe. She must be some sort of grass user, or maybe even a ghost type trainer. Who knows, but she was certainly from a region Minato had not yet been to. She also seemed a bit off, as if she had decided to be in Kalos to get away from it all. A tourist, most likely.
âSomething tells me you need to be entertained, have you been to Shabboneau Castle here in Camphrier? Itâs a bit barren, but the architecture is still really interesting. Or hey Parfum Palace is always fun! There are tons of cool Pokemon to catch on the way.â He extended a hand to the girl, not sure what else to do. When someone needed help, Minato was always there.
The assumption that she was a grass -type trainer wasnât an uncommon one and it was one she used often to hide her title. People whoâd never seen a picture of the Hoenn Elite Four ghost-type master never expected her to wear such bright colors with flowers in her hair. It wasnât the image they expected, so she had no problem letting people believe she was a grass-type user as she traveled in different regions. This time it was Kalos.
âHuh? Oh, yeah! I guess you can say that! Hmm, nope! Iâve never even heard of that place. Whereâs that? And Parfum Palace?â It all sounded so interesting! Now if she could just find out about some ghost-type hideaways. Or haunted houses. She shook his hand, smiling brightly at him. âHey, you wouldnât happen to know of any haunted houses around here, would you?â
Sableye looks like an Elvis fan.
âNow you know, donât you? You really should have worn a jacket~â Kotori was also giggling too. Come to think of it, there was this one place that would be perfect for that! It was a little far. She wondered if the person was okay with a bit of flying. She didnât seem like the type, but who knows?
âAh! I know this great place we could buy a jacket for you from! But itâs a little far⊠You donât mind flying with me, right? I can help you pick out a really cute one!â Being a designer really does help with other things, doesnât it?
âI know,â she laughed. âNow, anyway. Iâm not from around here, Iâm from Hoenn, so I thought itâd be as warm as there.â In Hoenn, she could wear her tube top and skirt every day, no matter the season. Here that apparently wasnât the case. Now she remembered why she rarely left Hoenn, besides being busy much of the time: the weather was never as nice as in Hoenn.
âReally?! Youâd take me there?â Her eyes lit up and she smiled brightly. She hadnât been expecting an escort, assuming the other girl would just tell her where to go then continue on her own journey. âOf course I donât mind! Ahh, youâre so sweet!â
Oh! Well! This was a gigantic surprise! He wasnât sure who the girl was at first, when she ran up towards him, but when she introduced herself, things became a little more clear. Whoa! She was a member of Hoennâs Elite Four?! And sheâ?! Saw him at the Conference? Whoa!Â
As she spoke, Ash Ketchum simply stood there with raised eyebrows and wide brown eyes. He was playing attention, but⊠Wow, what an honor! He couldnât believe it! A fatal error as occurred within AshKetchum.EXE. Please reboot the system.Â
Once she was done speaking, Ash found it in him to speak.Â
âYou saw that?! And remembered me?! Wow⊠that was a while ago!â He gave out a chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head, his Pikachu smiling in his shoulder all the while.Â
âMaybe Iâll take on the Ever Grande Conference again sometime, yeah! Nothinâs really goinâ on for me and Pikachu here, so maybe we will!â
âPii~ka!â Pikachu replied, putting a paw in the air in both agreement with his trainer and also as a greeting to Phoebe.Â
âBut if youâre up for a battle, I wouldnât say no!â He said, shocked and touched expression replaced with one of solid determination. His heart raced at the idea of a battle with someone of the Elite Four.. heâs done it before on a few occasions, but the thrill of battling someone so well known for their Pokemon training and skill level would never die within him. After all, if he was going to be the very best, he had to start somewhere!Â
âI remember all the trainers who got as far as you!â Only one person could win the Conference, but she liked to remember other trainers whoâd made it far in the ranks. Chances were theyâd eventually challenge the League and that meant it was always in her interest to know something about them. Besides, the Conference battles were fun to watch!Â
She smiled at Ashâs and Pikachuâs excitement. Directing a small thought to Bannette, he popped out of his pokeball and waved at Pikachu and Ash before settling on her head. She was just glad he didnât try to chew on her flower accessories, a common occurrence with him. âIâd love to see you take on the Conference again. The next oneâs in a few months.â Sheâd be back in Hoenn again by then and theyâd all be waiting with anticipation to see who would challenge them this time.Â
âA battle?â She was surprised by the challenge, though she realized she shouldnât have been. A lot of people challenged Elite Four members when they saw them, sheâd just figured that Ash would wait to see if he could win the Conference before battling her. She looked up at Bannette as he cried out, happilly nodding at the question. âWell, Bannette seems up for it, so sure! I only have five Pokemon with me right now, so we can do a five on five battle!â One day sheâd carry around a full team of six, but today was not that day.Â
âI gotta warn you, I donât lose!â That was a lie but, hey, gotta shake up the challenger.
madoka wasnât sure she could wholly understand the real impact such fame could have on a person. sure, she had her small fanclub, but they usually were limited to asking for pictures at contest halls after performances. only rarely was she stopped outside of her element. being stopped and asked to perform no matter where you went â that was way too much.
â i understand. it must be a lot of hard work on all of you. â she wanted to help out somehow. phoebe liked ghost pokĂ©mon, right? there were lots of beautiful sights around as she springtime faded through, but what could appeal uniquely to phoebe? her mind sorted through a few options. what day was today? friday?
â oh !! i have an idea, â she muses, fingers latching in thought. â why donât we go down to the river by the windworks and have lunch? thereâs something cool there i think youâd really like. â
The Elite Four had a lot of eyes on them all the time, whether it be news reporters trying to get a scoop or trainers wanting to battle. Though Phoebe was glad that, at the very least, she was only an Elite Four and not the champion. Steven had to deal with a lot more publicity, while a lot of the time Phoebe could slip away to Mt. Pyre where few people ever were and hide out till she wanted to deal with the eyes.
âIt is, but itâs fun most of the time! Iâve seen some really strong trainers with amazing bonds and the Elite Four are great, even if Sidney wonât stop playing his guitar and Drake keeps trying to teach me how to drive a ship.â Which she was staying far away from. She preferred surfing to sailing any day.
âOooh, interesting! I suppose you wonât tell me whatâs cool about it? Mysterious, I like it! Letâs go!â She hooked arms with Madoka, smiling brightly at the other girl. âLead the way!â
intro time~
Patrat seemed a bit content with Phoebeâs reply, so he just started watching by now. And as soon as Phoebe said that Hinata could just throw the PokĂ©ball, he wasnât going to waste time and just throw it. Riolu seemed so distracted that he didnât even about what was happening, so maybe it could work.
âHere goes nothing, I guess!â And the ball goes straight to Rioluâs head, then a red light as the ball starts capturing him. Now it was the moment of truth, more or less. The ball started moving.Â
One time⊠Two times⊠Three timesâŠ!Â
Click!Â
Alright, it seemed like this would never going to stop being nerve-wrecking for Hinata. Seriously, this was just too much, but hey, it worked. So now his team was no longer of two members, but threeâand all because of a strategy of a random girlâŠ
âUm. Thanks, I guess. Iâd never really thought about using thatâŠâ Now that he took a good look at her, she seemed kind of familiar. Too familiar, even. âHey, uh. Do I know you from somewhereâŠ?â
She curled her hands into fists, staring intensely at the Pokeball as it started rocking back and forth. Come on, just click! she willed it, holding onto her superstition that if you thought really hard about it the Pokemon would be captured. One, two, three. Click! "Yeah!" She threw her arms up, smiling so widely that she showed her teeth. "Banette!" the Pokemon in her head cried out with her, throwing his arms up too. With how she was acting, someone would have thought she was the one who'd just caught Riolu. But, no, she was just happy that the boy had managed to catch it.
"Not many do, but it works really well. I didn't do that to get Banette, but I also didn't battle him. He just came up to me and has stayed with me since." There she went, rambling off the top of her head with her high, bright voice. She laughed a bit at his question and stood up straight, stretching her arms up and behind her.
She stepped a bit back from him once she'd finished stretching and spread her arms wide. Banette flew off her head, hovering right next to her in a similar pose. "We've never met, but chances are you've seen me on TV. I'm Phoebe, the ghost-type master of the Hoenn Elite Four!" She looked expectantly at him, waiting for the shocked reaction she knew was coming.
Jyushi had been spending some time with his beloved Ampharos that day. He felt  a little bad since itâd been a while since heâd taken it out of the PC and spent time with it! He decided that going to the amusement park for the day would be a great idea! Thereâs all sorts of fun things there! He was certain that he and and Ampharos would have a great time! Well, was, is the key word here, because in what felt like the blink of an eye something smacked into his face!Â
Jyushi let out a short shout in surprise to being knocked back a bit, though thankfully his Ampharos had  broken the fall a bit, so heâd only landed on his rear and wasnât really hurt at all. Jyushiâs attention was then grabbed when someone started to apologize and ask if he was ok. His confusion subsided once the girl finished speaking, and in seconds Jyushi rebounded back, happily standing like nothing had even happened!Â
âIâm fine! It takes something with a lot more muscle to bruise me! And itâs ok! The ferris wheel is really exciting, Iâve been on there a bunch and still think itâs fun!â Â Jyushi happily stated in hopes of reassuring the girl that he was a-ok.
"Ah, thank the flowers," she said. It was an odd saying, and it wasn't even technically one since she'd made it up herself, but she liked using it. She stood up with him, sighing in relief and shaking her head. Banette hovered nervously around the man, eyes wide and worried despite the man assuring Phoebe that he was okay. "Don't worry, Banette. It's okay." She held her arms out to Banette and he flew into them, allowing himself to be enveloped in her hug.
"You're gonna hurt his feelings saying that," she joked, looking down at the tiny Pokemon. He definitely didn't have muscle, but she'd be willing to bet he could beat a Macamp. "I haven't been on a Ferris wheel in years. I haven't even been in a city this big in years!" Her shoulders relaxed, a friendly smile replacing her earlier frown. With the worry of the man being hurt gone, it was easy for her to relax, acting as if they were good friends instead of strangers.
"Are you and your Ampharos going to the Ferris wheel?" she asked while leaning over to wave a hand at the electric-type. "You can join me and Banette if you want."
â have no fear, mortal! i, OWAIN DARK, will purge this path of what clogs its veins and pains its heart! GREAT BEAST OF ETERNAL SLUMBER! i implore you to rise! â snorlax offers⊠but a grunt. â⊠pleaseâŠ? â
@ghostflxwers
She watched with interest as the man talked to the Snorlax. She covered her mouth to stifle the laughter that burst from her lips when the Snorlax simply grunted at him, her shoulders shaking in humor. "It doesn't wanna wake up. Let's let it sleep," she suggested between laughter.
