Being enough, humble enough and loving enough to apologize... . . . This image right here takes me back to my #iyaworaje I was a newborn only months old. The old Alicia died. The Alicia my family knew died. The Alicia my lover knew died. The Alicia my daughter knew died. And while it was a spiritual death and rebirth, my past, my childhood, the generational trauma, physical and sexual abuse is still very much present and I work extremely hard to keep my rage under control. And so I share that to say that I am not perfect. I get angry. I get triggered. I get it wrong. And I can acknowledge when I am wrong. . . . There are days I want to go off on all kinds of people. But I remember this moment, this peace, this protection and I hold it close. . . . Today has been a hard day. Where I should be celebrating I found myself caught up in something that I should have just released. And so today I am learning a beautiful lesson. Not all battles are my battles.
