"You mean you haven't been going on romantic dates with Sebastian while you've been away from me?" "I tried, but no matter how liquored up you get him, he just won't put out."
'I don't really care what you think. You're not my brother,' said Clary. 'You're a murderer.' ‘I don’t really see how those two things cancel each other out,’ said Sebastian.
City of Lost Souls, p. 92
Prior to having my life consumed by COB I was reading An Abundance of Katherines and now going back to that I feel disoriented because I keep expecting demons to appear out of no where but we're no longer in that universe and it is a very confusing time for me.
I FINISHED IT, Part what is this part five yes, Part V. I think this one was my least favorite and most favorite for the same reasons. It was exhausting to read because of stupid Jace and his stupid connection but also I mean I see why this was necessary like thrust him into the dark side as far as he can go and get rid of the possibility that that's where he belongs or would want to be. The speech about him and Sebastian and Valentine and the differences yes. But also to like get everyone else to shut up about his allegiance and stuff. It amazes me how little story time there is in this series. Four hundred some pages and it covers the timespan of like what a little over a week? You toss that up against Harry Potter which covers a full year and then these books seem even more exhausting because of how much real-time story time you see. I am sad about Magnus. I'm not yet sure I believe that was really him. I mean I'm sure it was but maybe it wasn't? If whatshername is dead she couldn't have sent the note which means Maureen sent it or it was the last thing Camille (sp?) ever did. Which also Maureen is crazy she's supposed to be 13 isn't she and she's been turned for like what maybe a week that was this book right lmao omg I don't even know they all blur into one at this point. Or was that the last book. Kyle/Jordan. Whatever point is she's a baby and now suddenly thinks she can take on the world okay girl you go ahead and do that. Um, what else even happened. Simon is okay. Isabelle seems like she's gunna deal with all that in the next one. I'm glad real!Jace is back. Totally ~nailed it with the sword thing. Although this whole nonsense about the fire and stuff sigh was that really necessary. I imagine it will play a role in taking down Sebastian. Or something crazy. I appreciated the "of course it's not okay with me I'm a teenage boy this is the worst thing that has ever happened to me" lmao god bless. So the next/last book will be centralized around figuring out wtf is going on with Jace and his new he heavenly glow, and the final showdown with Sebastian. I can accept that. My heart aches at not having that book readily available but sigh what can you do.
Hypothetically they could use the sword on Jace to fix him without killing him right it would just kill the connection; but if they use it on Sebastian it would kill him entirely because there’s nothing good leftover in him. So they could save Jace before the book is over and then that sets up the final book / final battle, right? RIGHT?! I JUST WANT JACE BACK.
Stupid rings. I knew it.
Is this book going to end with him going back to fake!Jace. Rage. Immense rage.
There's only a few chapters left Jace has to get better soon right I'm tired of feeling distraught over fake love even if he's supposedly the ~same when it comes to Clary whatever just make it go away I'm scared though because the heavenly fire thing that means it'll probably happen in the last book also known as the book that doesn't even exist yet this series is ruining my life.
