My first interview!! - James Zabiela for DJ Mag India
So, its finally here...! And I'm pretty emotional for various reasons....
Its my first ever interview for a major publication & it happens to be on DJ Mag; one of the earliest magazines that I used to collect & read religiously. My first interviewee is none other than James Zabiela; one of my biggest idols over the years. Its in the very first edition of DJ Mag India out on stands; which was a very distant dream for Indian DJs & EDM fans even 5 years ago. The first edition is also full of rich Indian features & content, a sign of India's arrival in contemporary international electronic dance music publication!
If you hold this glossy quarterly (for the 1st year) magazine in your hands & skim through its pages, you would find familiarly random (yet very relevant) Indian articles of nightlife photography by Iza Viola, India's presence at the IMS conference in Ibiza, Bhavishyavani crew's reportage of the Movement festival in Detroit, Word Sound Power's next offering, Unmute agency, a listing of India's top 10 DJs; besides the usual international format of features, updates, lists of events & festivals, music/tech reviews, charts & much more. This is a great start & I wish Kenneth Lobo (editor) & team good luck for the future editions.
