Omg I’m pretty sure this is the reason why SBR release schedule seems to not be planned.
Paramount announced that they would merge with Warner Bros Discovery in February of this year, and that is when according to leakers episode 1 of steel ball run was fully done. The fact that the episode was done a month before its release date was a sign that it could be weekly, and then 2 weeks later a leak claimed that the 2nd episode for SBR was done.
I believe this points towards SBR originally being meant to release weekly, but due to the merger being announced last month they could only clear episode 1 of SBR for release. And as the comment states, production is most likely frozen right now which would explain why the director himself said in an interview that he didn’t know when episode 2 would be coming out to the public.
We should know if the companies merge by next month, because April 23rd is when shareholders are voting on it.
So TLDR: the merger is making production freeze so people working on the show and Netflix ofc, don’t know when the episodes will release😭
