So on my last day at work
Ben tells me he's gonna miss me and repeated asks me to stay.
James was trying to help me find ways to fix my issues there in order to stay.
Ollie kept giving me jobs to do so I wouldn't leave.
Everyone kept insisting that they wouldn't have to say goodbye because I would be back to visit soon anyway. Which is probably true because as Ben was saying, I'll probably never work with a better group of people ever again.
figuring out how i'm gonna tell Dave and Ben and Ollie that I'm quitting tomorrow :-)))))) [stabs self]
just sent my resignation email to work. still kind of gutted to be leaving so many great people but I'm pretty sure it's just gonna go downhill with all the changes
So this evening it's just me and a new girl running.
New as in it's her first shift.
As in I HAVE TO TRAIN HER.
ON ONE OF THE HOTTEST EVENINGS OF THE YEAR.
At work this week, we got a shit load of new staff including one cute guy on the bar who said that I looked so much older than 17 ("in a good way" *smiles like an angel*), a girl who was in my brother's year who has decided that we are to be best friends and a cute new food runner who made beautiful puns as he watched me make desserts:
Me: [makes annoyed sound] "that guy sent my sundae back because it's apparently too warm, it's fucking boiling in here how am I meant to keep it freezing??!"
New Boy: "that's got to be pretty... frost-rating"
I cant decide whether I'm in love or just want to be in a bro trio with him and Dave.
Either way, being on desserts is great because you can here the chefs shouting for service but you don't have to go to them. I have no idea why Dave asked me to do desserts, i think he seriously sees it as a not fun job.
One of the chefs decided there's something going on between me and Dave and told the head chef who was teasing me about it and oh god I must have blushed so hard
then he changed his mind and said that it couldn't possibly be true because I'm "way out of Dave's league" which lol no he is like 7.5/10 would most definitely go on a date with or three
On the bring side, Davey is an absolute darling who has offered to take on the Tuesday shift I didn't know I had and Newart is encouraging Kay to train me up as a zone host/desserts guy because he knows how much I suck at food running. Kay's been so nice to me since I started and she said she'd be happy to train me if she gets the chance.
