One of my favorite traditions was at band camp. We called it 'The Candle Lights' and it's where all the seniors go up on stage and give a little goodbye speech for their last years. After all the seniors are done with their speech they use their already lit candles to light the freshmen's candles as a 'I pass my legacy to you' type thing. and my band director is talking about canceling band camp this year.. and I don't wanna miss it.

If quarantine makes us cancel band camp i WILL riot 😌

That tradition is super sweet!! We wait until it's the end of the season to do anything like that, usually the seniors give a 'pep talk' before our last comp (which also serves as their goodbye). But what we DO have is the 'senior skit'...hear me out. This shit is hilarious.

The seniors reenact funny moments from their past four season for the rest of the band. But the funny part is that no one ever understands it?? Bc they usually just prep it the day of and have these jokes thrown in with little to no context so we're just left there like WHY are they all laughing?????

That being said...this year is my chance to be in the senior skit 🥺🥺🥺 i dont wanna miss it

Our drumline are crackheads. Both the crazy and drug way 😂 since we're on quarantine, one of the guys that play snare hooked up a snare drum to his treadmill so he could keep marching, he had 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 😂 -J

I'll be a junior this year, but all my friends are seniors, and I don't want to miss their speeches. It's the most memorable moment in the year for me and helps me remember why I joined band. -J

Hmm but even if old traidtions die, you can still make news ones? If you miss out on band camp, let them speak before a concert or competition?

I'm in the same boat where a lot of my friends atm are seniors and I'm terrified of them leaving, but since we're friends I trust them to leave on a good note, no matter what.
