Taiwan recently released a video of a PLA J-16 being locked on by an F-16V (a variant of the F-16), likely from dozens of kilometers away and with the J-16 pilot being unaware of the lock.

The J-16 matriline was seen today, as well as both J-50 and J-52! Though some speculated that J-40 Suttles (11 years old, not part of J-16s) was J-52's mother because she was observed with them last week, she was not with them today. I firmly believe J-36 Alki is J-52's mom! Center for Whale Research needs to confirm, though.

In the first picture, J-16 Slick (43 years) is with J-50. In the second, J-36 Alki (16 years) is with J-52! Western Prince Whale Watching & Wildlife Tours said the pairs were "just a bit" from each other, but were "generally pretty close together." How sweet for mother and daughter to raise calves together!
