ohhhhhh my heart, it truly truly is!!!!! feel like its been one of those years for Callum tbh, but yeah, everything i've learned in this past year of attempting to follow and learn about endurance racing has shown what a cruel, cruel sport it can be (i'm still thinking about that LMP2 car that gave out about 2 minutes before the end of Le Mans while they were in a podium position............ LE CRY)

George truly doesn’t know how he got here. He’s usually knows what he’s doing, acts deliberately – never drinks too much, never makes decisions without working through every potential pro and con and deliberating for a few more hours, days, weeks. He’s not impulsive.

Neither is Daniel, when you don’t just listen to what the media says and actually get to know him.

Except, maybe, they are.

They have been dancing around each other for weeks, months. Nothing serious, George thought. Nothing serious, he thought Daniel thought. But now one thing has led to another and they’re in the lift up to the floor George’s room is on, because for some reason this appears to be actually happening.

Daniel has him pushed up against the wall beside the buttons, the 9 glowing in the dim lighting. It’s new, being the one with his back to the wall. That doesn’t mean it’s bad. Daniel is smaller than him, just enough for him to have to bend down, not enough for it to be an actual stretch, but nice nonetheless. That’s new too.

He cradles the back of Daniel’s neck, tilts his face up more, nips at his lips. Daniel’s stubble is long enough to be soft to the touch, but still slightly scratchy against the sensitive skin of George’s face. He doesn’t mind at all.

George swipes his tongue over Daniel’s lip, deepening the kiss just as the elevator comes to a halt and the doors slide open. He chases after Daniel when he pulls back, then takes his hand to lead Daniel to his room.

The door closes behind them and this time it’s George pushing Daniel against the wall, and Daniel seems kind of taken aback, looks up abruptly and somehow knocking his head into George’s chin so hard George’s head snaps back and he can’t help the “ow” escaping him.

He holds his chin and knows he pulls a face, but the pain fades the moment he sees how Daniel’s face has gone bright red, his eyes wide in shock. It didn’t even hurt that much in the first place, the pain caused more by the surprise impact than actual physical force.

“Are you–”

Before Daniel can finish his question, George has already leaned back down to kiss Daniel again, softer and slower this time, and when Daniel responds, he traces his tongue over Daniel’s bottom lip, lets his hands trail down from Daniel’s waist to his hips and bring him in close.
