W.G. Grace rookie cricket card, circa 1881-82. Very early J.Baines Litho card, the first ever of Grace, for sure. This card predates British tobacco sports cards by about 15 years!

From circa 1918 -20 a South Africa rugby team card, early example of Springboks ephemera by J.Baines of Bradford. This very rare British trade card of the South African team is the only one known to have surviced
1898-99 Shamrocks either an early IRFU (probable, seeing capped player) or a ‘London Irish’ rugby club card. London Irish formed c.1898. This card is from around then. J.Baines of Bradord litho trade card may have made this to celebrate the new club. They had already published London Welsh and London Scottish team cards
