its actually incredibly frustrating to go out and see that there are still people who continue to practice craft (hoodoo/voodoo) and use terms (smudging, spirit animal, chakra) and use implements (dream catchers, ceremonial garb) from marginalised and indigenous peoples as part of an eclectic practice.

if it isn’t in your cultural heritage: don’t do it.

western europe has a rich history of magical practice and folklore. why the fuck do you think you need to coopt the sacred practices of marginalised groups for yourself?
