JA Alumni and all the possibilities
I want to make this blog post a bit personal, while it’s important to me, that you hear this from a fellow Alumni member. I want to talk about what opportunities this network gives you. Actually it’s more about how to take advantage of them.
First of all, I want to state that there are many ways to be part of the JA-family and they are all good in their own way. You can be a member and get the news about what is going on and reading bits and pieces. Which is fine, you might get some knowledge about the world of entrepreneurship, but it’s not a very big step.
You can also be a member and participate in local events, which will generate a lot of knowledge and probably a big network. I recommend to do this at least. You will grow as a person and meet people that inspire you to do more in you daily life, and that is fantastic!
When you have reached the point of wanting to do more, but don’t know where to start, you can take it up a nudge and be part of your local task force group or even becoming a board member. You need to want to live it, if you want the full advantage. Not that every hour of every day has to be about JA, but you’ll realise that it will be a part of your mentality.
When you have the mentality start working! Not because you are forced to do so or because it will even feel like work (sometimes it will though), but because it’s an amazing opportunity to get hands on experience with big projects. You can even be the leader of your own project if you want to!
Besides the great opportunity to get experience and the fact that you can write volunteer work on your resume, you are going to meet awesome, inspiring, motivating people that can help you do the best you can! You might have your own business you need help with, or you might just want to learn about entrepreneurship, and the network is a great opportunity! Ask and you shall receive. Just remember to give back, that’s what make this a family.
