BORO CLAN.
The Boro Clan is a spotted hyena shifter faction based in the Bronx of New York City. Despite being in the eyes of the Crusade, they keep to themselves. Preferably only getting involved in the myth community on base level.
This base level includes having IDs issued by the Crusade, but nothing more. Members of the clan refuse to take jobs of facilities run by other myths. They wish to keep their livelihood sacred without the major influences of myth society.
This is primarily due to their belief that the Crusade dooms myths. They believe if one gets involved with them it’ll be their untimely demise.
Because of this group mentality, the Boro Clan has their own influence outside of myth society. Their matriarchy Reina Boro owns an apartment complex in the Bronx. Which houses the entirety of the Boro Clan– who also accepts other hyena shifters into their family even without family ties. Reina is in a constant battle to keep the building out of the clutches of the Crusade. On top of this, she runs and knows everything happening within the clan.
Culture is tightly knit. Often involving group meals and group events. One of the biggest events is using their warehouse off the docks to freely shift and house meetings.
Yet, because of their strictness those who go against the wishes of remaining outside of myth society are severely punished. Because of this many youth of the clan are homeschooled to avoid accidental shifting in public, so they’re typically only socialized with others in the clan as they grow up.
Other notes:
Jabori is the eldest son of Reina. His father passed away due to health conditions. Other than Jabori, Reina also has two twin daughters.
The Boro Clan struggles for money due to their strict upbringing. Making the family do many odd jobs, but those of higher standing in the clan will take on riskier jobs.
