(Or if you want specifics- Friends to Enemies to Frenemies to Lovers)
Summary- Henry and you have worked together as Captain Man's sidekicks ever since the unfortunate circumstance of showing up to the job interview at the same time five years ago. Ever since it had been a constant battle to compete for who exactly is the better sidekick.
Warnings- Sexism (only at first), It might seem like Ray Manchester slander in some points, but I swear it's not, both reader and henry are petty, reader can seem like a b*tch at times, timeline issues, a few uses of y/n (but that's not really an issue to me personally), tension, non canon (obviously), detaching yourself as a coping mechanism, angst, dangerous situations, it got more serious than I intended it to for being a kids show, a few curse words (not censored in the actual writing),
A/n: this starts off VERY rocky at first because I never know how to start fics but I promise you it gets much better after a little while. <3 I also believe this is my longest fic so far which is hilarious to me. Feel free to give feedback! Thank you again for reading
At first, you didn't exactly hate Henry Hart. You were both kids when you met five years ago. Two 13 year old kids who just wanted to get some money to buy meaningless things.
Both of you had stumbled out of the elevator at the same time, holding onto each other for support after the dizzying drop you had both just encountered.
While you were still gaining your composure, Henry spoke up from beside you, asking if you were alright. You released yourself from his hold and offered a small smile of gratitude.
You both ended up getting a job working for Captain Man. Everything went relatively smoothly at first, having you focus more on the sidelines while working on the Man Cave's Computer system.
You had volunteered many times to go out in the field with Ray so that Henry had time to recover from his various injuries. Henry was constantly pushed to his limits, and you were forced to witness it time after time as he came stumbling back from missions all battered and beaten.
Feeling bad for the boy, you decided to change spots and put on his costume to fight crime with Captain Man before he got a chance to show up for work one day. It left you with a broken rib from getting thrown through a countertop in a diner across town.
Henry was furious and glared at you when you got back to the Man Cave. Ray clapped you on the back with a smirk. You repressed a groan as you clutched an arm to your ribs, pretending you were perfectly fine. Clearly you needed more practice out there, but if it gave Henry a break, you would endure it again.
"Well done kid. You really threw yourself at that burly criminal! He never saw it coming!" Ray chuckled, proud of the outcome of the mission. He went over to the Autosnacker and began ordering, turning away from you. Ray was oblivious to the angry teenager that stood in the middle of the room with his arms crossed. It made the young boy's anger grow even more.
"You know, you're like a Kid Danger 2.0" He continued as he threw some pieces of popcorn into his mouth. "Oh, I got it!! How about Girl Danger! Yeah?" He raised an eyebrow, still riding the high from the fight, and pointed a finger towards the injured girl who still wore Henry's superhero suit. You had moved to stand beside the boy, trying to silently apologize for taking his costume. It was exciting to be out there fighting the bad guys, it was a rush, but a part of you still felt bad for making him so angry.
"Really? The only way she would be dangerous is when she's on her period." Henry finally spoke up, his anger finally boiling to the surface as he laughed bitterly. That made you snap your head towards him in shock.
"Ha! Thats a good one, Kid!" Their boss agreed, not really taking a moment to realize how upsetting it was to the girl who practically threw herself into danger to help keep him out of harm's way.
That is when the real distain started towards Henry Hart. Their shared laughter rang in your ears for weeks. Mocking you as if you were less than. It bugged you, eating away at you from the inside out. Even at just 13, the backhanded sexist comment wasn't lost on you.
Sure, it was out of jealousy and bitterness, but at the time it hurt you more than you would ever admit.
There were many little moments that made your hatred for him grow even more. Since that whole incident, you both started a rivalry to see which one of you could be a better sidekick for Captain Man. Between the yelling, arguing and nitpicking at the little missteps in each other's routine during a fight, it was quickly becoming the only consistent thing in both of your lives.
At one point there was even a poll online for who Captain Man's best sidekick was according to the citizens of Swellview. No one knew who had won since a certain someone hacked into the Swellview Internet Database and deleted all of the information that ever existed about it. Not a single person stepped forward to confess but everyone in the Man Cave had a sneaking suspicion about who had done it. Schwoz, the little smirking man in the corner when the internet shut down while Henry and you were huddled around the computer screen with Ray for the results. What a shame.
The saving grace, however, was Charlotte. The two of you became quick friends, and you finally gained another girl on your side. You weren't alone anymore and that made working there a whole lot easier. It also gave you more time to one-up everything that Henry did. The two of you got quite close over the four years that she was a part of the team.
Charlotte hated your petty rivalry and often called it 'childish and unnecessary'. The one time she had to cover as a substitute Kid Danger was when you were sick. Normally you would've jumped on the opportunity, but Schwoz had decided to feed you some science cookies he had cooked up and now you were currently curled up on the couch in the man cave with ice on your head as Schwoz kept asking you obvious questions.
You looked up with an expectant smile as you saw the tube come down with Charlotte stepping out from under it soon after. A disgusted look on her face as she wiped off the sludge that had gathered on her arms from the mission. Her costume was singed at the edges and her hair was fuzzy, sticking up in all different directions. It was almost comical and reminded you of how cartoons picture characters after an explosion. "I don't know how you and Henry can do this for a living. You've done this for years and you're still not tired of it. I've done it for a day and I'm ready for retirement."
You laughed at her joke, which was soon followed by a cough. "Thank you for covering for me. Henry couldn't do it because of some stupid after school thing"
"Is everything he does stupid to you?" She asked as she plopped down beside you.
Your nose scrunched up as a waft of her stench drifted towards you, almost making you even more sick just by the smell. "Not everything. Just most things- Ugh what is that?"
"uhh.. burnt anchovies, I think? I was standing in the canned food aisle of Swellview Foods when some petty criminal decided to blow up the things he deemed 'Too Expensive'"
"You smell awful, Char but on the bright side I think you opened up my sinuses." A brief moment of laughter was shared between the two before Charlotte reached into the pocket of the Kid Danger suit and pulled out a shriveled anchovy. She dropped it onto your lap, and you squirmed away quickly, knocking off the icepack in the process.
"Looks like there was a survivor" She smirked before getting back up. "You should really talk to him, you know. Outside of work, I mean. You two would actually be friends if you weren't in constant competition."
After getting off of the couch, Schwoz swiftly jabbed you in the arm with the finished antidote. You yelped and swatted at his arm out of retaliation. Realizing you didn't respond to your friend, you turned back to her with a shrug. "I like making his life difficult, it keeps him on his toes"
"Or! Maybe you just like being on his mind constantly, any way that you can be. Because you like him~" She teased and got up from the couch as well, pointing an accusatory finger to your chest.
"I don't.. Like him" You mumbled, matching her tone.
Speak of the devil. The elevator beeped and out came Henry. He dropped his school bag by the door and walked over to the group. "I see the she-devil has arisen" He smiled and nodded to you. There lacked any ill intention behind his comment as he continued. “Feeling any better?"
"Just peachy" You replied quickly and crossed your arms, your mood instantly souring upon his arrival in the Man Cave. It was as if on instinct you fell back into your petty ways. Charlotte sighed in frustration and went off to the back to shower finally.
Your eyes watched the boy silently before finally speaking again, letting your arms drop to your sides. "How was the after-school program?"
After raising a questioning brow, curious of your motives, he went to get comfortable on the couch. "Principal says I can make up for all the classwork I missed from wor-" As soon as he sat down the condensation from the ice pack instantly made its way onto his pants. He grimaced. "Why is my butt wet?" After another moment he gasped. "And why does it smell so fishy?"
Schwoz giggled. "Henry has wet butt!" You looked to the man and shook your head, trying desperately to hide your amusement but inevitably failed, joining in with the laughter.
Taking a few strides towards where the boy sat you reached down to the seat beside him and tossed the shriveled anchovy in his direction. He shrieked and fell backwards, landing unceremoniously on his back. Sprawled out on the floor, he groaned dramatically.
You smirked before reaching over to the 'Sick bin' that Schwoz had set out for you earlier. Reaching inside, you grabbed a towel and placed it on the table for him while he wasn't looking before walking off to the back.
It was another night patrol in Swellview. It should've been relatively simple. A call came in complaining of loud banging in the alleyway near their apartment building.
Crime was pretty slow that night, otherwise you all probably would've ignored the call and just given it to the police to deal with. Henry was busy with a family reunion, which he insisted wasn't very important, but you beat him to the mission first. Much to his disappointment.
Captain Man walked beside you in the dark alley, passing by some dingey dumpsters that rattled softly. "You should check that out"
"Why do I need to check it out?" You asked, looking up at him with a raised eyebrow. Your mask scrunched around your nose slightly with the movement.
"Because you're..shorter" He explained simply, as if it made all the sense in the world.
You picked up a stray pipe that was lying on the concrete before giving in. With a sigh, not willing to argue pointlessly, you approached the dumpster with caution.
Opening the lid with a creak, you looked over the edge to see a bunch of trash bags stacked together inside. You made a curious hum before a startled screech rang out. A fluffy raccoon jumped out of the dumpster, clinging to your face as you fell backwards on the ground. The pipe clattered beside you as you frantically tried to pry the animal off of you. "Captain Man!"
Ray laughed, holding his stomach as he bent over from excursion. "Oh! You got raccooned!"
A noise from the dumpster drew his attention, stopping the laughter as he approached it without a care in the world.
Just as you released the claws of the raccoon from your skin, it skittered away quickly and you rose to your feet, panting. Sending an angry glare towards your boss. You were about to comment before you saw a second raccoon spring up and latch onto Captain Man.
It clawed angrily at his face, sinking its nails into each piece of flesh it could. This one seemed much scrawnier and rabid than the one that had attacked you previously.
You could have helped, you really could've, but instead you decided to take a step back, pipe in hand and a content smirk on your lips as you waited for the onslaught to end so you could return back to the Man Cave. "Karma"
-Back in the Man Cave-
"If he wasn't invincible, I swear he would have had rabies by now" Your amused laugh rang out. Currently you sat by Henry on the couch, still clad in your suit as you watched your boss pacing back and forth angrily. "Do you see him foaming at the mouth too?" You leaned over to the boy to whisper.
That had Henry looking at your boss as well. Sharing a laugh together seemed to draw the man's attention. Ray furiously wiped at the corner of his mouth. White foam suspiciously frothed up and leaked from his lips. "It's not rabies!" He insisted, clearly irritated by the joke.
"Schwoz will fix the rabies! Come here." Came a voice from behind the couch, the scientist popping up into your line of sight. His smile crazed with barely contained excitement.
"Stay away from me Schwoz!" Ray warned, grabbing the nearest weapon to him in order to defend himself.
A chase ensued around the entire Man Cave. Surprisingly Schwoz could move very quickly when he wanted to. Like right now, as he was now equipped with a long test tube and multiple cotton swabs. "Let me schwab you!"
"There will be no schwabbing! I'm perfectly healthy!"
By this time the scratches and bite marks had disappeared completely on the superhero's skin, but that didn't sway the scientist away from his persuit.
"Oh, come on! Just let the man schwab your mouth, Ray!" Henry spoke up beside you, a playful tone taking over as you both continued to watch with amusement.
"If he was going to schwab my mouth, I wouldn't be running from him! He's a maniac! Now, help me fend him off!"
"I uh... we can't! I have to help y/n clean those cuts. real serious stuff. Not all of us can be invincible, you know"
You turned to Henry, confused by his excuse but before you could protest, he was already dragging you towards the bathroom with a firm grip on your hand. Remaining silent, still caught off guard by the sudden movement, you allowed it to happen.
He ushered you inside and you quickly took a seat atop the counter near the sink, scooching back enough that your back hit the mirror.
After rummaging around in the cabinet, he turned back to you and uncapped a bottle of peroxide.
"You do know I can probably just get something to heal me quickly from Schwoz, right? You don't have to do all of this"
Henry only poured out some peroxide on a cotton ball and leaned in closer, his hand lingering close to your cheek before answering you. "I know, but did you really want to stay for The Schwabbing?" He asked dramatically before smirking.
That got you to laugh, unable to stop the sound from escaping your mouth. A blush crept up onto your cheeks as you realized he actually made you laugh for the first time in years. You blamed it on your potential rabies.
He stared a moment too long, admiring the way the corners of your mouth tilted upwards, the small spark in your eyes. The genuine happiness that he had only caught glimpses of when you hung out with anyone besides him.
The kind smile he thought he had erased permanently years ago. The twinkle in your eyes that he feared he had snuffed out. It was there, caused by him.
You cleared your throat to get his attention, and he blinked out of his trance. "Just let me clean these up and we can go our separate ways, alright?"
With a nod, you let him gently slide the cotton ball against your jawline. His movements only stopped when you would flinch harshly away from him. Henry, however, didn't stray away from you as he worked. Which was odd for you, but you didn't dare question it, the thundering of your heart too loud to override your anxious questions.
Once you realized that the air was getting too heavy between you, you abruptly dodged his hand and hopped off of the counter.
"Anyway, uh... Night, Hen" You muttered quickly before departing the room and leaving his standing there, hand held limply in the air where you once were.
You both never spoke of the moment again after that, but he knew that that was the moment that permanently altered his mind and the way he thought about you. He liked you, he just didn't want to admit it to himself yet.
Their shared experiences left them as far better people than how they began. They weren't kids anymore. The things you once hated him for, he had grown out of. Sadly, it was difficult to kick a habit you had created and stuck by for years. It was like muscle memory at this point.
You had to admit that he had grown a lot since you first met. Mentally and physically for that matter. It was lucky that you got to grow together and experience things firsthand alongside him all of these years.
“How could she have gone without me?!" Henry groaned, pacing back and forth Infront of Charlotte who lounged on the couch. She didn't particularly have an issue with the situation and replied boredly, scrolling on her pear phone without looking up at her distressed friend.
"Her and Ray have been going without you for years, Hen. You're really surprised by this?"
"Well..no! But it's still annoying, ok? The least Ray could've done is tell me about it before they left. It's like he doesn't care either!"
"Maybe he finally wanted to respect your boundaries and give you a well-deserved break?" Her lip twitched up into a smirk before they both doubled over with laughter. She sighed with a smile as the laughter died down. Shrugging and waving her hand dismissively she continued. "Y/n can handle it. Plus, he probably just forgot, that's all"
The moment of distraction calmed his nerves briefly. "I should still go after them. You said they left how long ago?"
The girl glanced over to the clock on the wall. The glass was cracked from the last 'target practice' that was held in the Man Cave. It took her a moment to interpret it before she looked back over to the boy. "About 2 hours ago. But hey, that's not saying much! Remember when you guys were stuck in the Swellview Sewers overnight?"
Henry grimaced. "Ugh, don't remind me. That smell haunts my dreams to this day"
He remembered that day vividly, not just because of the smell but because you happened to be the one to rescue him.
-Flashback-
Captain Man had been beeping your watch for over an hour. It was now 5am on a Tuesday morning and you had a major history exam in the morning that would have made the difference between passing or failing the class entirely. Reluctantly you answered the call and groggily spoke. "I swear if you're calling me for something dumb like a late ice cream delivery-"
"Ice Cream? Hey Kid, there's ice cream. what kind do you-" The phone was abruptly pulled from their boss's hand as Henry spoke, his shoulders barely above the muck they were both covered in.
"We need your help. Swellview Sewers. Stuck on a pipe." He said quickly and tried to move around yet again but to no avail. His utility belt only made a light clanging noise underneath the ‘water’.
"Jeez, can I at least get a please?" You smirked and tilted your head, waiting expectantly. After getting up to grab your tube of gum from your bag you crossed your arms and listened for his reply.
After what felt like an hour but was merely a few seconds, he spoke up. "Please.." He spoke quietly, barely audible but your smirk only grew upon hearing it.
"On the way" You said, proud of your small victory, and popped a gumball in your mouth.
Getting down to the Sewers was the easy part. Navigating a safe path to where the boys were was tricky. Your boot kept slipping on the wet gravel path along the side of the sewer drain. It quietly threatened your demise with every step you took.
“Hey! Down here!” Ray managed to wave an arm out of the water, hitting Henry in the face with the backsplash. Raising his arm to wipe it off would only cause more of a disgusting mess so he resisted impulse. With a grimace and cough, he turned his head away as best as he could.
Your head shot up at the sound and you nodded in recognition, continuing your journey to them. “What happened down here?”
“Criminal tried to escape down here and-“
“He DID escape, Captain Man! You made me go after him and look at how that worked out!” Henry spit out his boss’s alias as if the very thought was laughable. Lately he had been taking most of the blow on his adventures with the Superhero. However he didn’t seem to mind it until now, it gave him an opportunity to show off showcase his abilities and prove that he was in fact better at being a sidekick than you.
After many long tireless hours of contemplating this however, he did realize that the competition that you two had been meticulously competing for was long past its expiration date. It was pointless, you were adults now. And you did a damn good job at being Captain Man’s sidekick. Not that he would ever admit that to you directly.
Ray looked to his sidekick with an incredulous look, not expecting such an outburst out of the blue. After shaking it off, he turned back to you, continuing his statement. “Anyway, the criminal escaped, grumpy pants over here slipped and fell in. Got stuck on a pipe in the water and I climbed in-“
“After 5 minutes of complaining” Henry chimed in, but Ray ignored his tone and continued.
“I climbed in to help him get out and ended up getting stuck myself. We tried to get out ourselves but just managed to make things worse.”
You laughed, amused by their one sided bickering. “I think I get the gist of it” After a brief moment of hesitation, you began climbing into the water. Your boss smiled, happy to be rescued. “You’re paying for dry cleaning” His smile dropped as you mumbled out your terms.
It only took a few moments to untangle him from the pipes. Captain Man didn’t wait another second before climbing out. Henry shuffled back on instinct as you got closer to him. The movement had the pipe clanging under the water.
“If you keep moving, you’ll just get more stuck, genius” Your voice came, reprimanding. He obeyed and stiffened as you advanced towards him even closer. The pipe he had been stuck to was bent in an odd way underneath the water and you grunted as you tugged his utility belt against it.
The pipe protested and held strong against your strength, causing you to move closer to his body. Your hip bumped against his thigh and he couldn’t help his mind from focusing on the warmth you provided through your suit. Everything you were doing caused his mind to go into hyperdrive. Hyper aware of your every move. Your fingers brushed over his stomach as they searched for the cause of the imprisonment. Nimble fingers drifting across the compartments on his belt.
Short breaths of concentration were puffed out against his ear and he blushed, turning his face away from you to hide it. After finally releasing him from the pipes, you grabbed onto his upper arms to steady him. “You alright?”
“Just peachy” he mumbled, pulling away from your grasp. Returning back to his grumpy attitude from before, then gently moving past you to get out.
-End of Flashback-
He blamed his odd behavior towards you as sleep deprivation at first. An excuse that he now came to realize was just that, an excuse. From that day on, he started picking up on the little things you did. The quirks he hadn’t noticed before. Everything from tapping your thigh with your fingertips when you got nervous, to sudden shifts in the way you stared at people. He was beginning to read you as if you were the most interesting book he had ever picked up.
It was frightening to fall for someone who hated you so fiercely. His attitude towards you lessened significantly. He had started to include you rather than blatantly ignoring you. The sudden shift had startled you, but you never seemed to waver from giving him your sarcastic replies and snarky remarks, if anything, they had just increased in the past few weeks.
“Have you heard anything back from them?”
Before Charlotte could reply, the doors at the back of the Man Cave opened, earning both of their attention. Schwoz and Ray emerged, laughing about a weapon test that had apparently worked well. The shorter man held an oversized plastic container filled with Cheez-Balls.
Their boss didn’t seem to pay them any mind as he plopped down on the couch beside Charlotte. After feeling their eyes bore holes into the side of his face, he finally looked up at them confused. “What’s the haps?”
“Wha- why are you here? You’re supposed to be with Y/n on the mission” Charlotte spoke from her spot, just as confused as Henry seemed to be. The boy hadn’t spoken a word since their arrival.
“Hm? Oh! She wanted to go alone.” Ray replied with a smile, making a grabby hand gesture towards the Scientist who leaned against the Autosnacker.
“You let her go on a mission solo? You didn’t even try to stop her?”
“Relax kid, she will be fine. Pass the Cheez-Balls” Ray said in passing, not having any interest in arguing with Henry. He motioned for the cheese balls that was currently being guarded by Schwoz after being ignored the first time.
“You get no cheese bawls” The man pouted and hugged the cheesy snacks to his chest. With a smile, and blatant disregard for his boss, he offered a few cheese balls to Henry that were previously resting in the man’s palm. “Henry, do you want cheese bawls? They’re gewd!”
“No! I don’t want your cheese bawls!” Henry responded with a a wave of his hand. “I want y/n back!”
The room went quiet as everyone let the sidekick realize what he had just said. His eyes widened as he heard himself, stuttering to backtrack. “She’s never gone alone on a mission, I mean. You really want to lose a sidekick?”
“She has been going out there alone for weeks.” Schwoz commented, not realizing the boys distress.
“Even caught the Raging Clown last week. Did you not know?” Ray looked to Henry, shrugging. It hadn’t been a big deal since you consistantly came back, seemingly just fine. Although worse for wear, but hidden well enough.
“Ugh!” Henry groaned and walked over to his bag to pull out his tube of gum.
His boss looked over to him confused. “Where are you headed, Kid?”
“To go help her! Someone should!” He said angrily before blowing a bubble. His clothes changed instantly into his Kid Danger suit before he went over to the tube. “Up the Tube!”
-Across town in an old metal workshop-
Your body was dangled from the chains attached to a crane. It was a terrible situation you got yourself into. Ever since your recent encounters with your fellow Side Kick, you had been trying desperately to busy yourself with work. Your mind betraying you with misconceived thoughts about him. Thoughts you initially believed had been changed and you didn’t know how to cope with it.
It had worked well for the most part, besides today.
Upon arrival, you were bombarded by several goons who had ambushed you. Your vision was snuffed out as one of them covered your head with an old burlap sack.
Next thing you knew, you were waking up attached to the chains, dangling precariously over a boiling pot of something unrecognizable. Your head hurt, which you realized was probably due to being knocked out with a heavy object prior.
This gave you more time to think, which is exactly what you wanted to avoid doing to begin with. Your mind was filled with thoughts of Henry. Stupid delusions that couldn’t have possibly been reciprocated. It crushed your heart against your ribs and made it hard to breathe. That may have just been because of the restraints holding you up in the moment, but it didn’t compare to the torment you were constantly put through by your own mind.
A sound rattled from above you. Once looking up, you spotted a smirking man with crooked teeth looking down at you. “Oh good, the little bird lives. Think Captain Man will come save you?” His cackling laughter rang out through the empty warehouse, echoed by a chorus of laughs from all around.
He seemed to be a newer villain in town, no noticeable information about him was gained from your research online. Due to this, you were severely underprepared for this mission. Normally you wouldn’t have thrown yourself into danger with at least a little bit of information prior. However, you hadn’t quite been your usual self recently. Even your friendship with Charlotte began to fracture at the edges because of your dismissive nature and avoidance.
It’s funny how your life hanging in the balance makes you rethink past decisions. You regretted it, and vowed to make it up to her if you made it out of this alive.
Your hope was slowly vanishing as you were lowered down towards the boiling liquid. You squirmed, trying to free your hands from where they were firmly tucked against your sides. Your torso had been completely bound by rope, trapping your arms to your body.
No one was coming for you, you had argued with Captain Man to let you go alone for the past week. He had put his faith in you, so why would he be on his way to save you when you’ve given him no reason to worry?
A hit to the metal doors caught your attention. Consistent pounding and minimal shaking was seen. After a moment of silence, the heavy doors were kicked inwards, slamming open against the worn walls. It created indents in the ancient wood where it had hit.
In came Kid Danger, a cocky smirk grazing his lips. The men on the ground floor looked towards him in shock, not expecting the sudden intrusion. You would be lying if you said your heart didn’t beat quicker at the sight of him.
It felt like a blur as your eyes tracked his movements. He swiftly kicked one man back into an old wooden shipping box, having it crumble around his form as he groaned.
Two others rushed towards him, awoken by the newfound danger of the situation. One took advantage and hooked his arm around Henry’s neck, rearing him back towards his chest as the other man kicked him in the stomach.
“Kid Danger!” You shouted after finding your words again. His attention was pulled to you, finding renewed strength as he elbowed his captor in the ribs to be freed. After escaping successfully, he swirled around to punch him in the jaw, then swung his elbow back to hit his other attacker.
Kid Danger had since grown to become a force of reckoning, surprising everyone, including you and Captain Man. He made the climb to the second level where he met with the head villain. The man eyed him for a moment before laughing. “You’re no Captain Man, kid. Come on, give me a real challenge”
Henry wasted no time in yanking the man towards him and twisting his body towards the edge of the platform. The villain cling on desperately to Henry’s leg. Almost getting pulled down with him, the Sidekick grabbed onto a swinging pot next to him and swung it hard in-front of him, effectively knocking the stubborn man down to the first floor.
You tried resisting the urge to smile, the corners of your mouth curling up slightly. He caught it, of course he did with how much he noticed you.
“Thank you” you muttered quietly, avoiding his eyes as they stared you down.
The quiet moment was interrupted as his voice reached your ears, more frustrated than ever before. It was foreign coming from him. There was a lack of anger, just pure distress and worry. Of course there was an angry undertone to it, but it wasn’t primarily the one you stuck to. “You’re so determined to beat me at my own game that you’re willing to risk your own life?”
Instinctively your brows creased and you scoffed in disbelief. “I could’ve handled it”
His hands worked quickly to swing you in towards him on the floorboards, no longer dangling. Diligent fingers untied the rope around your wrists and waist. After it was off he sighed, tossing it aside as he looked to you, one hand still lingering just above your side to make sure you were balanced.
“Oh yea, it sure looked like it when you were dangling over the pot of melted metal waiting to be turned into a nice piece of jewelry. Tell me, oh wise one. How would you have handled it, huh? What were you going to do?”
“Well, before you rudely swung in to steal the show.. I was going to-“
“Really? You’re going to argue over this NOW?! Will one of you just come over and help me round up the criminals?”
It was then that you both realized Captain Man had entered the warehouse, having followed Henry out of guilt necessity. The criminals were mostly tied up against one of the walls. A lot had happened since you started arguing. You both blushed and went down to help silently.
-Back in the Man Cave-
Charlotte sat at the computer with Schwoz looking over her shoulder eating Cheez-Balls. The crumbs cascaded down her shoulder and she whined, turning the chair away from him. “Schwoz!”
Ray, Henry and you entered the Man Cave after coming down the tubes in your suits. It was quiet between the three of you and the tension was suffocating.
It was quiet as you made your way to the couch. “Show off” you mumbled, grumpy and angry, mostly with yourself for needing to be saved in the first place. The comment was bitter and unnecessary but felt like a natural response towards him at this point.
“Halfwit” he shot back, pretending to focus on picking his nailbeds.
“You don’t even know what that means, idiot”
“So? Do you ever stop being a bitch? I saved your life today!”
“And I said thank you!”
The group in the Man Cave stayed completely silent as you both argued, not willing to cause more damage. Something had clearly happened during the mission and neither Charlotte, nor Schwoz were going to speak up. Even Captain Man was quiet, not willing to get screamed at by either of you.
“Thank you doesn’t mean anything if you’re just going to continue going back out there and putting yourself in unnecessary danger! Why do you keep doing that?”
“To keep you out of it!”
Henry shut his mouth for a moment, considering your words before he continued, less angry than before. His tone softening. “It’s my job”
“I’ve seen you come back from missions on death’s doorstep. You put your heart and soul into this job and it’s slowly killing you. Do you know how worried I get when you can’t even stand after being beaten down by a guy twice your size?” Your words kept spilling out, the floodgates having opened up. “I can’t just sit by and watch you get hurt over and over again! That’s why I did this in the first place. Do you really think I wanted to take your job? I wanted to give you a damn break!”
Maybe it was the stress that had been building from the past few weeks, maybe it was the heavy onslaught of missions, or maybe it was just because you would rather take a thousand hits than let any harm befall him.
After a few heavy pants, you stared at him. Waiting for his reaction. When one didn’t seem to be coming, you frowned. Exhausted.
“Forget I said-“
His lips met yours, softly at first, afraid you would push him away. It took you a moment to realize what had happened. An arm held you firmly around your waist, pinning you to his chest as he kissed you. It was hesitant, distant in a sense. The tips of his fingers barely grazing your cheek, not quite pressing down, afraid to be rejected.
Sure, he had wanted to kiss you for a while, but he was still uncertain if you wanted him in return. Henry began to pull away before you pulled him back towards you, bunching the fabric of his suit in your fist. You kissed him back with a sigh, softer than he thought was possible from you.
As soon as you pulled apart, only far enough to look into each other's eyes. It was quietly pleasant before you saw the cocky smirk begin to form on his lips.
"You're so into me"
Rolling your eyes with an amused smile you responded softly. "Shut up and kiss me, you dork"

A/n: This fic may also not see the light of day since the entire fandom of Henry Danger could all fit inside a single shoe box, but that’s ok. I was going to write more with little scenarios, but it was getting way too long for my liking. If you liked this however, please let me know! It may just be a one off of this fandom, but I wanted to try it out and deliver some content. I also won’t be tagging my regular tag list since this is so different from what I usually write.
I do realize I have to get better with writing fight scenes; I will work on it in the future.
Also, two fics AND a master list all within two days? Something must be wrong with me. (Or it's just my apology from being gone so long)
here's some cute and fluffy headcannons for our favourite doofus!! like with the smutty headcannons, (y/n) is only referred to as Sweet Girl because she's from my henry danger insert series.
word count: 3.7k
rating - F - fluff, friends-to-lovers, pining, spoilers, marriage, adult themes/language, slight references to mature themes, marriage, children, domesticity, small angsty moments, references to insecurities and therapy, emotional issues, jealousy, ray is in love and he wants to be the best version of himself for his wife

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
Ray’s love language is physical touch. He constantly needs a hand on his Sweet Girl, whether that be on her hip, arm, shoulders, palming her ass. He’s not afraid to show PDA (fearless, Henry will testify).
He’s not so confident with words, thinking they’re dumb and dorky–all clumsy on his tongue. Yet, he’s been known to say the right thing on occasion, melting Sweet Girl by professing his undying love and endless fidelity.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Well. We know how this went.
Ray and Sweet Girl met when Captain Man responded to a hostage situation in a Swellview cafe. Only, when he turned up, all cocky and confident, who did he find? A super-sarcastic, super-smart, super-hot, recently graduated college student beating the shit out of some lowlife. It was love at first sight (after a few choice words), but it would be a long time before they confessed.
Ray thought it was better to be friends than lose such a Sweet Girl for good. He was the greatest friend she ever had - kind, protective, funny, loyal, caring, the sort of person she could tell anything (except her feelings). They’d suffer in silence, mutually pining for years, but really, Best Friend!Ray is the same as Boyfriend/Fiancé/Husband!Ray. The only difference is a little leap of faith.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
Cuddling king! Ray loves to snuggle (it often leads to more *wink wink*).
He just loves being around his wife. Running his hands up and down her curves, fingers petting her hair. Doesn’t care if it’s in bed or on the couch, watching a movie or in silence. Just being with her is enough.
Bonus points if he gets to fall asleep with her lying on his chest.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
Captain Man never wanted to settle down…until he met his future wife. The moment they locked eyes, he foresaw his perfect future - matching rings, a house, a dog, a pretty garden full of flowers, kids. God, he wants an army of kids.
It takes a while, but he wifes Sweet Girl up, and it’s bliss. Turns out Captain Man did want to settle down. He just hadn’t found his soulmate yet.
Domestically, Ray doesn’t step up to the plate as much until the army of children comes along. The second his wife is a Hot Mom™, he vows to be the father his dad never was (I could write a novel on his daddy issues).
He learns how to cook more than his Captain Mancakes because what’s more manly than providing food for his growing family? His Sweet Girl needs to rest and relax, so he’s cooking, cleaning, folding laundry, assembling flatpack furniture–you name it, he’s doing it, and all whilst holding his baby.
Sweet Girl is still very much in charge, but she’s trained her Doofus well. He’s not a bad guy, really :)
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
Nope. Not happening. Over Ray’s dead body. And even then, he’d fight the universe until it fixes its mistake. He and Sweet Girl are endgame. Soulmates belong together.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
If Ray could go back in time, he’d kick his old self in the nuts for not proposing to his best friend sooner. He was in love with her for so long, and he regrets how he never said anything.
Neither of them doubt they would’ve gotten married a lot sooner if they’d just bitten the bullet and confessed. But no matter. It happened eventually.
As previously mentioned, Ray is serious about this relationship - more so than the thousands of others he’d had. Sweet Girl is more than a fling or quick fuck, not just some woman he’ll ghost after two weeks.
She’s going to be his wife, even if it takes him another decade to propose.
It doesn’t. He bought the ring after six months of dating. Chickened out a few times before getting down on one knee. She said yes. They tied the knot. Happily ever after.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Emotionally, Ray isn’t gentle. He’s loud and brash and leaky. A man-child with a lot of emotional issues. But he means well (and he’s getting better at processing how he’s feeling.)
His love is very tender and genuine - it just comes out in big bursts with the urge to smother his Sweet Girl in affection. So, physically, he’s very passionate yet gentle. He’d never go too far and hurt his wife or make her feel uncomfortable. He treats her like the most precious thing in the world.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Big hugger. Loves an embrace. Comes up behind his Sweet Girl and glomps all over her as she’s doing dishes or cooking. Smooches up and down her neck until she squeals that it’s too ticklish.
Ray doesn’t need a reason to hug his wife. Whenever the fancy takes him, he gently pulls her into his arms and lets his immense warmth lull her into a blissful state. He’s so huge and muscly in those tight shirts, she can feel every inch of his body, and his cologne smells mouth-wateringly good.
Hugs with Ray just feel safe. Nothing can go wrong when he’s a cocoon all around her.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
Technically, Ray didn’t mean to say I love you. Henry and Charlotte conned him during Project Lobster.
He’s so glad he did, though. Otherwise, he’d have never heard his Sweet Girl say it back. Before that, it had only ever been “I love you–like a friend!!!” and that broke their hearts. Now, they say it all the time.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
Ray’s a 24-carat Doofus. He’s the jealous type, and, despite him logically knowing Sweet Girl would never leave him, it’s still his worst nightmare.
He gets all grumpy and overprotective whenever some asshole flirts with her - feels the need to mark his territory and show them who’s boss. Cue some public making out whilst flexing his muscles, glaring at the offender to ward them off. This Sweet Girl is spoken for. Find your own.
It’s okay. Sweet Girl reassures him with a quick kiss and her beaming smile before dragging off to a quiet spot for some lovin’. There’s only enough room for one Doofus in her heart, and that’s him.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
Soft. Slow. Tender. Fast. Sloppy. Lots of tongue. Ray’s (many) kisses have their own spectrum, and it depends on his mood and the situation. Although, as Schwoz and all the kids will testify, he has no shame.
They’re all so used to seeing their boss locking lips with their friend that they no longer flinch (just gag a little).
Ray doesn’t mind where his wife kisses him, but his neck is a sensitive spot. Makes him shiver and whimper. Even better if she pulls his earlobe into her mouth and sucks.
Ray loves his Sweet Girl’s lips. They’re soft, plump, and buttery, and she usually wears a flavoured chapstick. He always knew she’d taste sweet–that’s partially how she got her pet name.
The first time he kissed her was under the mistletoe on Christmas Eve, and he discovered she tasted like honey. Now, his chest is her beehive, and he’s more than happy to drink down the syrupy, sticky goodness. It’s addictive. It’s delicious.
And, of course, once she’s delirious from his kisses, he ventures south. Her lips aren’t the only place that tastes like honey.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
Ray lives in a stinking daycare - a direct quote. Ever since Henry (yay!) showed up, kids just seem to flock to his home. Charlotte (meh), Jasper (ugh), Piper (yikes). Then, there was Danger Force (pain), and the cycle started again.
He’s so used to having a loud household now that he can’t imagine life being any different. And, to say he often seems so irritated by the crowd, he’d lay down his life for all of them. Even Jasper. He loves him deep down.
When his time as an actual father comes, Ray soon learns two kids aren’t enough. He needs four or five, maybe more. He needs energy and a stampede of little footsteps. He needs to have his hands and heart full.
The experience he gained years prior is invaluable, and it makes him a wonderful father. Not perfect, but certainly better than his dad ever was.
Sweet Girl doesn’t mind. She never wanted a quiet house, either.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
Either out until the wee hours on an emergency call, stumbling back into bed to crash, or dozing in tranquility.
Ray doesn’t scrimp - his wife sleeps on a superking mattress with duck down and Egyptian cotton against her skin. It’s heavenly, all soft and cosy, more so when she sleeps in his arms.
They wake slowly, usually roll around in the sheets until 11-ish before Doofus brings breakfast. If she’s sneaky, Sweet Girl leaves first and brings a massive cup of coffee for them to share because it tastes better when it’s theirs.
Ray gets a bit moody. He wants to spoil her every day, but his pout is soon remedied. What man can resist when his wife spoonfeeds him her homemade waffles and strawberry sauce?
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Similar to mornings, although emergencies are more common. Their sleep schedule is fucked for many, many years. It doesn’t get better when they retire because of how many babies they end up having.
Occasionally, if they’re lucky, the older kids might take the call or babysit, and Ray leaps into action.
He seizes Date Night by the horns and whisks his wife to a restaurant for a meal and some drinks. Then, it’s back home for a bubble bath and her favourite rom-com. Usually followed by sexy times.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
It’s not easy for Ray to be vulnerable, so it took some time for him and Sweet Girl to start swapping secrets. Once he learned how kind and loyal she is, he spilled everything - his shitty childhood, his loneliness, his insecurities, his fear of growing old with nothing to show for his life.
Sometimes, it’s harder for him to talk about his feelings if they’re particularly upsetting (Henry’s depature remains a sore spot). She’s the only one who can coax it from him–the only one he’ll break down in front of.
Sweet Girl never pressures him. She knows he’ll come clean when he’s ready, and Ray’s grateful for her endless compassion.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
Whenever Ray can’t communicate how he’s feeling, he gets shouty. He’s a certified man-child and quick to lose his temper. A real drama queen.
He’ll punch and kick things, lash out at his surroundings, and to his shame, Schwoz has been on the receiving end of most of it. \
He mellows with age. Learns how to reign in his temper because he doesn’t want his children to grow up in that sort of loud house. No, he wants laughter, Saturday radio, and excited chatter. Not yelling, harsh words, and smashed vases.
He credits his wife for steering him towards therapy. He still gets angry, but he leaves and cools down before returning to deal with whatever annoyed him.
Then, he gets a hug and kiss. He deserves it. Look how far he’s come.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
Knowledge is a tricky thing for Ray.
He remembers all the important stuff - birthdays, anniversaries, her favourite colour and flower. He remembered every last detail of Sweet Girl’s dream holiday to Hawaii just because it would make her happy. He knows her go-to café order, and he recognises her handwriting anywhere.
Sure, it took him six months to properly learn her last name when they first met, but that doesn’t matter. Ray was already hellbent on replacing it with his, anyway.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
The happiest day of Ray’s life changes every once in a while, and Sweet Girl is always there.
Initially, it was the first time he heard her say I love you. He thought he’d died and gone to heaven, but it was real. He thought life couldn’t get any better.
Then, it did. She said yes when he asked her to marry him, and he found himself sliding the ring he bought for her onto her finger. All his fears about rejection vanished, and it became the new happiest day of his life.
Until they said I do. Sweet Girl became his wife, and Ray became her husband like fate had always planned. It wasn’t the ceremony they were expecting, but it was perfect, and she’d never look more beautiful. He’d never been happier as they sealed their vows with a loving kiss.
Nothing could top that…until Sweet Girl revealed she was pregnant. Ray blinked once…twice..three times before his body hit the floor. They were having a baby?! Once Bose and Miles hauled him up and slapped him into conciousness, he couldn’t stop smiling—giddily telling anyone who’d listen that his wife was pregnant, and he couldn’t be happier or more excited for the future.
But with age comes wisdom, and Ray now supposes the happiest day of his life has to be the first time he held his child in his arms. A tiny thing compared to his hulking frame. All warm and soft, swaddled in a blanket. Gurgling and holding onto his finger because he was their father. Half him and half Sweet Girl. Utterly reliant on him to give them the best life possible, and he swore he’d do anything to make that happen.
The best part was how he got to relive that moment again and again, weeping every time another baby arrived with his crystal blue eyes or his wife’s sunshine smile.
The love in his heart grew. Happy moments never stopped with his Sweet Girl. They just kept coming.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
Ray doesn’t feel the need to be protected. He’s Captain Man - indestructible and well-trained to hold his own. Instead, his instincts drive him to shelter his soulmate from the world’s cruel realities.
It’s a bit much, sometimes. Sweet Girl is a superhero, so she can’t avoid danger indefinitely. Besides, her superpower saves her from any real harm, but Ray can’t help it. He’s strong enough and brave enough for the both of them; if anyone’s doing anything sacrificial and stupid, it’s him.
That being said, Sweet Girl absolutely recognises that Ray, despite what he says, needs protecting. He has self-destructive tendencies, and even though he’s indestructible, he still has feelings.
It takes some time, but the Doofus eventually sees their emotional relationship as equal, and he loses some of his macho bullshit for her pampering. Not all of it. She finds him acting all tough hot.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
Ray is nowhere near perfect, but Sweet Girl sees how hard he tries every day, and it melts her heart.
All his previous dates/girlfriends wanted Bucci, ferraris, and expensive restaurants, so imagine his shock when Sweet Girl wants Ray Manchester the Doofus, not Captain Man or some pretender.
Now, he’s not so much trying to flex his black cards but always thinking what she might like instead. A walk in the park. A burger place. A movie. It doesn’t have to be much - the whole point is they spend time together.
Anniversaries are a bit different. Ray won’t hesitate to spoil his wife. Whether it’s a trip, gift, or physical affection, he wants to see that pretty smile.
What’s the point of having money if you’re not gonna spend it on someone you adore?
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
Ray is a man. Men are gross. He needs housetraining.
He leaves the toilet seat up. He burps and farts and licks his fingers down to the last knuckle after a meal. He thinks bedsheets can be left unwashed for three months without issue. He manspreads (which can be attractive when he pats his thigh for his wife to take a seat but not when he’s nursing a beer in one hand and stuffing cheesepuffs into his mouth with another).
He also has his aforementioned emotional issues and constantly thinks everyone will abandon him. He gets touchy very quickly. He’s hideously stubborn - a cause of friction between him and Sweet Girl because she is, too.
However, his main bad habit is his constant flirting with others.
Henry’s Mom left Sweet Girl with serious insecurities after watching him lust over her before they started dating. Several old flames come and go, and her heart hurts when his gaze trails after them. Not fondly. Just curiously.
Ray would never ever cheat on his wife, but he’s a natural flirt and a ladies’ man. Old habits die hard, but he breaks them eventually.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
Look up vain in a dictionary, and Ray’s face is there. He grooms himself like a poodle - constantly quaffing his hair in a mirror or flexing his muscles or whitening his perfect, pearly teeth.
He’s always been scared to grow old (in case he ends up alone), so he does anything and everything to hide signs of age. Creams, powders, lotions, potions. His side of the bathroom is more cluttered than Sweet Girl’s.
She doesn’t care. She thinks he’s handsome enough without all that crap. It’s in Ray’s favour, really; the moment he ditches that shitty hair dye, he won’t be getting any sleep.
He’ll be one hell of a silver fox.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
As seen in the Opposite Universe, Ray falls apart without his Sweet Girl.
They’re meant to be together, so, if by some unthinkable, terrible incident they’re separated, it’s wrong. It disturbs the natural order of things. He loses his mind as his heart yearns for something that’s no longer there.
Even if Sweet Girl leaves town for a few days (a rarity), he’s a mess. He can’t function because they work so well together. He can’t sleep because their bed feels cold and empty. He can’t work because Miss Danger isn’t there to be his guiding light and the voice of reason.
Thankfully, Sweet Girl always returns pretty quickly. Smothers him with kisses to cheer him up, then he listens dreamily as she tells him about everything she got up to.
She followed a golden string to get back to him. Her heart skipped a beat whilst his pounded twice. The universe was in balance once more.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
Ray treats his wife like a queen. Therefore, he showers her with riches. Specifically, diamonds.
Sweet Girl never asked for them, but the day she mothered his kids, he decided his professions of eternal love weren’t good enough. He needs something more tangible - like crystallised carbon.
A diamond for every child she gives him. A different piece of jewellery. By the time Sweet Girl says enough is enough, she’s dripping in finery. Earrings, rings, a necklace, a bracelet… All set in high-quality platinum as a matching set.
Ray doesn’t flinch at the price or her scolding words when she says it’s silly and unecessary.
What she gave him made him a rich man without jewels or dollars.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
For all his showboating, Ray was never comfortable when his exes fawned over his superhero-status. It made him feel like a piece of meat. Sure, the flattery was nice for a while, but it felt so superficial. They never wanted to know the real him, unless revealing his secret identity gave them another five minutes of fame.
When Sweet Girl came along, she was a breath of fresh air.
She may have met Captain Man first, but it was Ray Manchester who befriended her, and she liked him for him. They shared a sense of humour; he was loud, she was quiet; he’s an adorable idiot in tight shirts, she’s a science nerd in sweaters and corduroys. They just work.
The only thing Ray wishes he could change about his Sweet Girl is her confidence. He wishes she saw herself through his eyes.
He doesn’t like how she criticises or diminishes her accomplishments, and he hates how she occasionally lets people walk all over her. Sometimes, she’s too nice for her own good, and it saddens him because he knows the world will take advantage of that.
He hates how he didn’t intervene sooner when his first sidekick eclipsed her sunshine smile and bled her kindness dry.
She wasn’t the same for a long time after that, and he’ll spend his life making up for it.
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
Ray struggles to sleep without his wife beside him. Even after an argument, they have to at least be in bed together, otherwise they’re angry and sleep-deprived the next day.
Their preferred position is the Sweetheart’s Cradle, where Sweet Girl gets as close as possible until her Doofus has her clasped in his arms with her leg over his hips.
It’s ridiculously warm and suffocatingly close, but they like it. It’s all about trust and intimacy - two things that define their relationship explicitly. They sleep soundly every night.

Summary: Henry doesn't like the guy hitting on you in the grocery store.
wc: 466
Me and Henry were currently out grocery shopping for tonights big dinner. We were celebrating for Charlotte graduating from Harvard, we’re all so proud of her.
I was currently in the snack isle looking for something to satisfy my pregnancy cravings while Henry was in a different aisle getting some steak for tonight. I tried reaching for the jar of pickles but for some reason they were on a really high shelf, who the hell puts pickles up that high?
I stood on my toes for about half a second before my back started aching due to the human being that was floating around in my belly. “Ahh!” I held onto my back as some man came rushing over to me. “You alright?” He asked while moving me back from the self. “Yeah! Im fine- was just tryna grab some pickles.” I explained. I can’t believe I’m out of breath already, all I did was stand on my toes. “Lemme grab that for you.” He softly said as he stretched his arm up and grabbed the pickles jar with ease.
“Thank you so much, sir.” I thanked with a smile as I put the jar in my cart. “Please, call me Zack.” He stated. “What’s a gorgeous woman like you doing out here by herself?” The man questioned with a smirk. What a shitty way of flirting with a woman, especially a pregnant woman.
Before I could tell the man off, Henry walked up and placed his arm around my shoulder. “Who’s this?” Henry asked as he looked the man up and down with so much disgust on his face. Henry always got a bit jealous whenever some random guy would try to hit on me. “Who the hell are you?” Zack asked back. It was like he was trying to size Henry up.
“Her boyfriend and the father of her child.” Henry sternly said as he placed the steak into the cart, now face to face with the guy. Zack was now embarrassed. Embarrassed at the fact that he was hitting on a taken pregnant woman and that the father of her child stepped up to him.
“I-I’m sorry I didn’t mean to-“ The guy was fumbling over his own words until Henry cut him off. “Next time watch who the hell you’re talking to.” Henry said as he pushed the cart along with pushing the guy outa the way. I walked off with Henry as he looked back at the guy like he was a piece of gum on the bottom of his shoe.
“Who the hell does he think he is?! Piece of shit trine flirt with my girl.” Henry irately said as I giggled. “Baby calm down, I think you scared him off. “Good.” He said as I playfully rolled my eyes.
HIII omg youre like the only active person writing for Henry Danger and i would like to request dating headcanons with Henry!! (x female reader please!)
A/N- omg no fr it makes me so upset that there's so little fanfics (especially good ones💀) for the danger verse😭
CW- ngl these are kinda halfassed and writen on like 3 hours of sleep, not proof read (only spell checked), physical touch, the L bomb, angst, death, and suggestive if you do the squintiest squint, thats it??
❥ his love language is physical touch and words of affirmation. fight me.
❥ hes gives kinda golden retriever bf vibes, but not like overly or whatever yk??
❥i feel like for your first date, he might want to try hard and do something nice or whatever, especially if you guys weren't friends before hand, but he prefers to just stay home with you and hang out.
❥ i feel like he said 'i love you' first tbh.
you were in (yet another) life or death situation, and he was like kinda panicking. he was getting annoyed with how slow shwoz was working to try and save you or whatever, and he started ranting and somewhere in the rant he ended up saying he loves to, however you heard him say it.
once you were very much so alive and ok, you said it back to him.
❥you'll never miss the chance to sleepover at henrys house. ever. even if you guys have had an argument that same day, or the day before. then however, instead of sleeping in the same bed as him, you'll sleep on the couch that up in the corner of his room.
❥ at first piper definitely tells you that you can do better 💀
❥ you know about his past minor loyalty issues, but he quickly gains absolutely all of your trust once he finds out that you were overthinking it.
❥jasper lowkey be your hype man ngl
❥i wouldn't necessarily say that gift giving is one of his love languages, but if its yours or you want something, hell have absolutely no issue in getting you whatever it is.
❥ when you guys first started dating, you would sneak through his window at night all the time, or after school. one time tho, henrys dad ended up catching you. surprisingly tho, he wasent really upset. he was just like "omg this is awesome this is like the most 'rebellious' teenage activity we've ever gotten out of him" and after stifly waving at you he just walked away.
❥ henry stutters alot when you make him nervous. (which by the way is quite easy to do)
❥ he pays attention to the little stuff just as much as you do tbh.
❥ i feel like he'd make forts with you 😭 he likes making them at night tho, cause then they have less of a chance of getting ruined by his sister. plus, then you guys can go to sleep in them.
❥ catches your hand from a high five so you end up holding hands.
❥ whenever he get jealous, for the most part hes chill. he knows you'll be good on your own, but hell keep a close eye out just incase.
❥ hes pretty protective tho. once again, he knows you can handle yourself, but sometimes people are so rude to you and it makes him mad. however, he tries to keep his composure for everyone sake, and embarrassment.
❥ i feel like hed want to play with your hair?? like you guys would be laying so your back was facing him, and you just feel him start to play with your hair. you could tell he started to attempt to braid it. "henry stop you're gonna make it all tangled" "you want me to make it all tangled?"
This is so random but I refuse to believe Charlotte's only friends her age were Henry and Jasper (since Piper explicitly said in the episode "I Dreamed Of Danger") cuz there is just no way realistically she's only friends with two white boys 💀💀
