(( ... let's try this again, for Jace )) Dad - "Was Jace good with his hands as a kid?"
(( It is all good, my dude XD the prompt wasn’t super clear ))
The man looked up, curious at the question. Truthfully, he appeared to be the spitting image of Jace, but his hair was shorter, and his blue-green eyes seemed a little more weathered. He gave a smile, shaking his head.
“… Oh, Jason was never that-… dexterous.” He chuckled, leaning against his workbench. Old tools that were well taken care of hung from the pegboard above it, seeming like something the man obtained from a grandfather or a father, rather than bought new. He took down a chisel, holding it up to the light to check the bevel. “He was pretty good at soccer though, for a long time I thought he might go professional. He broke his leg, though. 7th grade.”
He shook his head with a warm smile, but his smile was interrupted by a coughing fit. It took him a while to get his coughing under control, before he cleared his throat. When he started to speak again, his tone was just as warm, but slightly more hoarse. “I guess that’s about the time that he started spending a lot more time with me in the garage. He always liked what I did, but while he was recovering, he couldn’t do that much. So… after a lot of accidental cuts, he started getting better, but it was something he learned as a skill, rather than had a natural inclination toward.”
