Jack Hock, you said, uh? That’s me. The renegade, the rebel. Jack Hock, big cock.

Can You Ever Forgive Me?
"Can You Ever Forgive Me?", nominated for 3 Oscars, is a biopic of the author Lee Israel who is also known as the literary forger. Lee Israel's true story is really shocking and I still can't shake it off. However, with Melissa McCarthy's amazing portrayal, the movie becomes entertaining rather than lenten. I shouldn't forget to mention Richard E. Grant's fantastic contribution as Lee's loyal friend Jack Hock, since he makes the movie much more enjoyable.
The film clearly tells why Lee Israel did what she did. She struggled a lot and she thought she found a way to salvage her days. She could have chosen ways which were moral of course but I think she got too lost because her fraudulency actually required writing skills, imagination and impersonation. Although it seems as if I am trying to empathize with her, I really don't know if she deserves our sympathy but I know Melissa McCarthy and Richard E. Grant deserve it totally.
So can we ever forgive Lee Israel?
