Warnings: just corny, tooth-rotting fluff. Jack is so adorable!
A/N: Yeah, it’s been a minute since I’ve written something. I’m a little rusty. I’m trying to change that :D Enjoy this cheesy nonsense.
Wayward Moeyy’s Full Master List
Jack stared at the colorful food display before him. Vivid pink and orange slices covered mounds of pure white. Specks of jade green peeked out from the center of the artistically constructed food items, giving a gorgeous contrast.
“So, what do you think?” you questioned with a giggle, unable to contain your amusement at Jack’s expression.
“So, this is all fish?” Jack placed two fingers over his chopsticks, obviously hesitant about the entire experience. “And it’s raw?”
You nodded, holding back a chuckle. “Yep, most of it. The shrimp in the middle of some of the rolls is cooked. It’s not usually safe to eat shrimp raw. But everything is perfectly safe.” You offered a confident smile, hoping to boost him up a little.
Jack’s eyes lowered again, inspecting the food. “And you eat this all the time?” You nodded.
“Pretty often, yeah. It’s really good,” you promised. “Here, I’ll go first. This one,” you pointed to the roll closest to you, “is salmon and tuna, with avocado and shrimp in the middle. It’s amazing.” You picked up a piece and placed it onto the small plate in front of you. “You can eat it as is, or dip it in soy sauce.” You pointed to the small sauce dish next to your plate. “The roll is a little on the sweet side, and the salty soy sauce is a good contrast. But, it’s up to you.”
Jack watched in awe as you dipped the piece of roll into the soy sauce, then gracefully popped it into your mouth. You smiled, savoring the taste and texture of your favorite food. Jack’s lips curled ever so slightly.
“You really enjoy this,” he whispered through his smile. You nodded.
“Yeah, it’s awesome. I’ve been eating it since I was pretty young. My dad and I would have sushi dates every other Sunday when I was in high school.” You smiled, reaching for another piece. “Go ahead, try one.”
Jack finally lifted his chopsticks, a tool you had taught him to use a few months before, and studied his options. After a few seconds, he set his sights on the roll you had chosen first, probably for safety. He fumbled for a second, almost dropping the colorful piece, before successfully placing it onto his place.
He eyed the small bowl of soy sauce you had poured him. You didn’t dare add wasabi or ginger to it, since he was still on the fence about spicy food. Then, he lifted the piece, gave it a hesitant dip, and lifted it to his mouth.
His lightly rosy cheeks puffed out as the slowly chewed. You anxiously watched his expression, which shifted from confusion to curiosity. Once he was done chewing, he grinned.
“So?” you pushed, the suspense killing you. Jack’s lips curled even more.
“I like it. It’s a little squishy, but I don’t mind that. It tastes really good.” You sighed in relief, glad that the two of you were able to share yet another thing in common.
Jack enthusiastically reached for a different piece, covered in grilled eel. It was a different taste, but after he devoured it, he seemed to like it just as much. His joyous smile remained plastered across his lips as he enjoyed different pieces, eating them in a blissful silence.
Once the two of you finished, you waited for the bill. Jack smiled contently at you and reached his hand across the table. You placed your hand in his, offering a soft smile in return.
“Wow, great job you two. You polished the plates,” the friendly server exclaimed as he picked up the empty plates. You giggled and nodded.
“Yeah, it was his first time having sushi. I guess we can say he liked it.” You smiled back at Jack, who blushed.
The server smiled. “Well, welcome to the dark side, my friend.” Jack stiffened at his words as he server turned towards the kitchen. You squeezed Jack’s hand tightly.
“Jack, he means it as a joke. It’s a reference to—”
“Star Wars, yes. I understand. I just disagree that something so pretty and delicious would be acquainted with the dark side.” Jack frowned a little, meeting your gaze.
You let out a soft laugh. “I agree, babe.” You smiled, rubbing the back of his hand with your thumb.
“Maybe we can make this a regular event? We can carry on your tradition of, um, Sunday sushi dates? You know, when we can.” His cheeks blushed again as his lips curled.
“Of course, Jack,” you chuckled, your heart fluttering. “That would be fun.” Jack grinned, then lifted your hand to his lips. His warm lips lingered there for a moment, pressing a soft kiss to your skin.
Jack licked his lips. “Soy sauce makes for salty kisses,” he noted matter-of-factly. You couldn’t help but laugh.
“Yes, Jack, I suppose it does.”
Thanks for reading! My tag list is being rebuilt. If you would like to be added, please let me know!
Warnings: mention of surgery, brief mention of blood/bodily fluids, prescription drug use (not abuse), sibling teasing, brief mention of nudity, fluff.
Request: From @mrswinchester29: “Hi please can I have a winchester sister imagine where I have my wisdom teeth taken out and I'm loopy from the medicine and they boys ask me lots of questions to get an honest response ( who scratched baby , who ate the last slice of pie , who's my favourite brother ect) and I then admit I'm in love with jack and then jack and cas tell the boys to stop and the next morning we talk about it thanks and please can you tag me when it's done xx”
A/N: I hope this is mostly accurate. I didn’t have general anesthesia when I had my wisdom teeth removed, only local anesthesia. But, I’ve had several surgeries, and I know what it’s like to wake up from anesthesia/be on pain meds. So, I based this on my experiences. Enjoy! Feedback is appreciated.

Your brothers hovered over you, their stupid grins wider than you ever remember seeing them. The room was spinning, and… Sam had something in his teeth. You giggled and pointed, but the words didn’t quite come out as planned.
“Ha! Teethies!” you chuckled, leaning a little to the side. Damn anesthesia. Luckily someone had propped you up with pillows on each side, keeping you from falling face-first to the ground.
Dean nearly lost it as he beamed down at you. “Yes, sis. Sam has teeth—” He could barely keep from laughing. “And you’re missing a few now.”
Your eyes widened. “I’m missing my teeth?!” you shrieked through the rolled gauze that crowded your cheeks. Your hands flew to your face, instantly making contact with the ice pack that was tied around your head. You winced.
“No, Y/N. You had your wisdom teeth removed. They needed to come out,” Castiel reiterated. Where the hell did he come from?
“Dean squatted down in front of you and smiled. “Y/N, how do you feel right now?” he inquired without a hint on concern on his face.
“Uh, I feel fine,” you muttered, drooling a little onto your chin. Sam quickly wiped your chin with a paper towel.
“Any pain?”
You tried to shake your head, but everything began to spin. “Nope!”
“Good. I wouldn’t want my little sister hurting.” He was chuckling a little. You giggled with him, not quite sure what was so funny. But, just hearing his laugh made you laugh.
“I have a question, Y/N. Which one of us do you want to help take care of you until you feel better?” Dean interrogated with that usual grin. You looked between Sam, Dean, Cas, and Jack, who stood behind everyone with a concerned gaze.
“Uh, Sam.” You answered bluntly. Dean scoffed and stood back up.
“Hey! I’m a great nurse!” he teased you. You shook your head a little.
“Sam’s nicer. He teases less,” you answered honestly. “He isn’t an asshole.” Everyone but you and Jack laughed.
“Hey! Be nice, Y/N,” Dean joked, rubbing your shoulder. “I’m not that bad.” He glanced over at Cas, then Sam. “But, I have to know, who stole my candy out of my desk drawer?” He smiled down at you.
You leaned back a little, then giggled. “I forgot about that!” you exclaimed in a muffled tone. You grinned. “That was me.”
Dean rolled your eyes and sighed. “I should have known.” Then, he leaned a little further in. “But what about the pie I bought last week? I put it in the fridge, but it was half gone the next morning.” He turned to Sam. “And Sam won’t eat lemon meringue.”
You furrowed your brow. “Yes, he does!” You sucked in a breath, exposing your blood-tinged gauze. “He shared with me.”
Dean’s eyes widened as he spun towards Sam. “You little fucking liar,” he snarled, shoving Sam’s shoulder. Sam swatted him.
“Dude, she’s drugged. She could be lying.” Dean shook his head, laughing.
“Oh, no. I remember when you got your wisdom teeth pulled. It was like you took a truth potion.” Dean smirked, then turned back to you.
“Alright, then.” Sam huffed, deciding to play along. “Did you steal my headphones? The good ones?” He folded his arms over his chest. “They’ve been missing for a few weeks now, and Dean has his own.”
You shook your head but couldn’t hold in the giggle. “Noooo,” you groaned. Sam just rolled his eyes.
“Yeeeees,” he countered. “I know you have them. I spotted them on your desk a few days ago.” His gaze narrowed.
“Fiiine, yes,” you confessed finally. One of your hands reached up, pressing the ice pack a little firmer against your skin.
Dean turned to Sam again and chuckled again. Sam smirked at his brother and nodded. “How about we have Cas be your nurse for the night?” Dean continued. “I’m sure you’d love to have Cas stare at you all night awkwardly from the corner of the room,” Dean teased, shooting Cas a smile. Cas didn’t return the gesture, not even offering a chuckle.
You frowned. “No, that’s creepy!” you grunted. “Sorry, love you Cas.” You nudged the irritated angel, who offered a half-smile. He was no fun.
Sam huffed a laugh. “What about Jack? Then he can stare at you all night.” You glanced over at the young half-angel, forcing your heart to race. Hmm, that wasn’t a bad idea.
“He’d see me naked when I change!” You drooled a little again, which Cas eventually wiped off your chin when Sam neglected to do so.
Dean’s eyebrow wiggled. “You don’t want Jack to see you naked?” he interrogated playfully, shooting Jack a quick glance. He looked away, his cheeks flushed.
You grinned as much as you could. “I wouldn’t mind. He’s the hot angel. Sorry, Cas.” Castiel’s eyes widened a little, but Jack’s eyes were like saucers. “Mmmm.”
You groaned a little as your jaw began to ache again. But, your brothers didn’t notice. They were too busy howling with laughter.
“Is that why you always want to be right next to him in the car? You wanna feel him against you—”
“That’s enough, Dean. She doesn’t know what she’s saying,” Cas commanded, taking a step towards you. His arm slipped under your armpit and lifted you onto your feet. “She doesn’t know what’s going on. She’s still feeling the effects of the anesthesia.”
“Oh, c’mon Cas! She knows it’s a joke! Were her brothers!” Dean argued, reaching for your other arm.
Jack blocked Dean’s reach, shooting him a dark scowl. “Leave her alone! She just had surgery. She needs to rest, not answer stupid questions!” Dean took a step back, his eyes locked on Jack. But, Jack stood his ground for another few moments, allowing Cas to pull you from the scene.
Sam sighed. “He’s right, Dean. She’s high as a kite on those pain meds.”
Dean huffed. “Fine, party pooper.” Then, your older brother turned away, rolling his eyes.
A few days later, you finally felt a lot better. You were able to eat normally again, and you weren’t in any more pain. And, best of all, your mind was clear.
Everyone other than Cas had left you alone for the last few days, giving you the silence you needed to rest. Sam occasionally texted you from his room to ask if you needed anything. But, other than that, they gave you space.
But today, you were ready to venture out into the rest of the bunker.
Your stomach growled reminding you that you were fucking starving. So, you headed for the kitchen in search of lunch.
The moment you crossed the threshold, you stopped dead in your tracks. Jack stood at the counter, leaning over something that he was dishing onto a plate.
Jack turned when he heard your footsteps, greeting you with a smile.
“Hi, Y/N.” He turned, revealing his plate with two slices of pizza. He glanced down at the plate, then back at you. “Would you like a slice of pizza? Dean ordered it yesterday, and there is a lot left over.” You smiled.
“Sure, Jack. Thanks.” You watched him slide his plate onto the counter.
“How are you feeling?” he inquired, grabbing another plate.
“Back to normal, thank goodness. I never knew that having a few teeth pulled was such an ordeal.” You accepted the plate of steaming pizza from Jack, nodding in thanks.
“Glad to hear.” He grabbed his plate and headed for the small kitchen table. “That medication really affected you.” You frowned as you took the seat across from him.
“Uh, yeah. I guess it did. I don’t really remember a whole lot.” You stared down at your pizza. “I don’t really like that stuff.”
Jack took a bite, then wiped his face. “You were… really honest about a lot of things. Your brothers, mostly Dean, asked you a lot of questions.”
“What type of questions?” you snapped, suddenly not hungry. Sam and Dean were always pranking you, and always wanted to find ways to humiliate you.
Jack’s cheeks reddened a little. “Well, they asked if you stole Sam’s headphones, and who ate Dean’s candy stash.” You giggled. Of freaking course they did.
“Well, that would explain where the headphones went.” You sighed, then finally took a bite of your pizza. “What else did they ask? What my laptop password was?”
Jack remained quiet for a moment, then sighed. “They asked you who you wanted to take care of you while you recovered. At first, you said Sam because Dean is an ‘asshole’. But, Dean teased you some more and, well, you said some things about me.” Your heart nearly leapt from your chest.
“What did I say?” you deadpanned. Jack placed his pizza crust onto his plate and swallowed thickly.
“You said that you wouldn’t mind me being your nurse and seeing you naked. And, you said I was the hotter angel.” His face was bright red at this point, and he was avoiding eye contact. You were almost certain that you were going to throw up the three bites of pizza you had taken. But, after a deep breath, you calmed yourself.
“I said that, huh? Wow. It’s amazing what we say when something is altering our minds.” You stared down at your chilling pizza, unable to move. Jack was smart enough to know that you were trying to make an excuse. He knew you meant everything you said on those meds. Plus, you were still coming down from anesthesia. That combo was like Professor Snape’s truth serum.
“Yeah, it sounded like you were telling the truth about everything else.” Okay, there was no getting out of this.
“I-I was, Jack. The honest truth. I don’t think I could have lied if I tried.” You lifted your head and met his gaze.
“You think I’m hot?” Jack asked. His voice was almost painfully innocent.
You smiled. “Among other things.”
“Like what?” Jack asked with a mouthful of pizza. He seemed interested, but abnormally nonchalant about the whole thing.
“Well, you’re kind and smart. Oh, and very supportive. I always feel like you have my back no matter what I’m trying to do.”
“I do.” Jack smiled up at you, a small amount of sauce plaguing his lip.
Your fingers toyed with the edge of your plate. “I know Jack. And that’s what I love about you.”
“I love you too, Y/N.” Your eyes widened painfully fast.
“W-What?”
Jack finished his last bite, then wiped his face. “I feel the same way you tdo. At least, the way I think you feel. You have romantic feelings for me, don’t you?” His striking blue eyes locked on yours. You felt oddly calm now, almost relieved.
“Yeah, Jack. I do.” His rosy lips curled into an amiable smile. You mimicked the gesture, reaching out your hand. He took it happily.
“It’s really nice to hear that from you when you’re not so… inebriated,” Jack confessed. You giggled, squeezing his hand.
“And it’s the honest truth,” you reassured him.
The two of you stayed like that for a while, completely silent. You didn’t care what the next move was, or if anyone walked in. You just held Jack’s hand in yours, grateful for the honesty that pain medication forced out of you.
A/N: Aaaand here’s a Supernatural fic for you all. I absolutely adore Jack. I mean, how can you not? Also, this fic is inspired by the song “Dance with the Devil” by Breaking Benjamin. It has nothing to do with the lyrics, just the name and my love for the song.
My Master List
As much as you loved spending time with the Winchesters and that adorable angel friend of theirs, you very much valued your alone time. Especially after a difficult case, you needed to not hear Dean blabbering on about his car or his taste in music. You craved silence from Sam trying to get you to give him cooking lessons. And, most of all, you really needed a break from Castiel pleading with you to teach him about every single piece of modern technology known to man.
Honestly, the only soul in that bunker that never got on your nerves was Jack.
You sighed, knowing that the sweet young man, who quickly gained your friendship, was in his room huddled behind the screen of his laptop watching Star Wars. Sure, you loved joining him, but there were times where you just needed a break from The Force. And now was definitely one of those times.
So, you settled onto you bed and cranked your Bluetooth speaker up as loud as you could. Luckily, the walls of your room were sound-proof, thanks to the former Men of Letters. Then, you pressed shuffle on your favorite playlist.
“Here I stand, helpless and left for dead,” you sang with the song. It was a pretty sad song, but you loved it. You closed your eyes as the lyrics filled your room, instantly calming you.
A moment later, your door creaked open. “Y/N?” you heard a faint voice ask against the music. You immediately paused the song and sat up.
“Yeah?” Your eyes landed on gorgeous blues staring at you from the doorway. You smiled lightly. “Oh, hey Jack.”
Jack beamed and entered the room, closing the door behind him. “I was wondering what you were up to. My eyes were hurting from watching the computer screen. I think I should take breaks every once in a while to lessen the strain.” You smiled and chuckled.
“Yeah, Jack. It’s not good to stare at that tiny screen for all that time. One movie could be anywhere from two to three hours, even more. That’s gonna hurt your eyes and give you a gnarly headache.” Jack nodded at your words.
“What are you up to?” he inquired sweetly as he eyed the side of your bed. You nodded to the spot as a silent invitation, but he was oblivious to your motion.
“You can sit there, Jack. Go ahead,” you finally offered. “I’m listening to music. It calms me when I need a distraction from the rest of the world, you know?” Jack’s eyes widened.
“Are you upset? Why do you need calming?” You chuckled and shook your head. He was so adorable sometimes.
“No, Jack. I’m not upset. It’s something I do while I’m relaxing. It’s just something that makes me happy.” Jack furrowed his brow as he started to understand.
Jack wasn’t someone who listened to a lot of music. You honestly didn’t know if he actually liked music, or what genre he would be interested in. While Dean drove the car, and blasted his greatest hits, Jack would occasionally tap his foot or fingers to the beat. But, he didn’t know any of the words, and he wasn’t the kind to be caught with headphones over his ears.
“Do you like music, Jack?” you inquired. Jack gave you a confused look, then shrugged.
“I don’t know. Some songs are really nice, and some are too loud for me. I guess I haven’t heard a lot of music.” His smiled picked up as he lifted his gaze back up to you. “Can I hear some of yours?” Jack glanced over to your speaker, then back to you. His eyes were filled with curiosity. How could you say no to that?
“Uh, sure. I don’t know if you’re going to like it.” You pressed the skip back button, then pressed play.
The song quickly filled the air around you once again. You closed your eyes as the soothing sound shivered over your skin. You sang along quietly, unable to resist, and began to sway. Your head bobbed a little as the lyrics continued.
Jack shifted, forcing your eyes opened. Was he dancing? Almost. He was swaying, mimicking you with stiff motions and a smile spread clear over his face.
“You like this, Jack?” He nodded.
“Yeah. His voice is nice, and the thrashing sound isn’t too harsh.” You chuckled.
“You mean the instruments? This is rock music, so there are a lot of drum sounds and guitar. That’s what usually makes up this genre,” you explained. Jack’s smile widened a little and reached out his hand.
“Do you want to dance? That’s what you do when you listen to music, right?” You smiled, then took his hand. This wasn’t the kind of music you danced with someone to, at least not in the classical sense, but that didn’t matter. You could never turn down Jack. If he enjoyed your music and wanted to dance, you were more than happy to.
Jack placed his hands on your waist, a rosiness quickly consuming his cheeks. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer to you. His hands slowly slipped further around your waist and folded over each other along your lower back. You led him, swaying to the tempo as best you could.
“Who taught you how to dance?” you inquired as you gazed up at gorgeous blue eyes. Jack pursed his lips.
“I looked it up on the internet. I’ve also watched a lot of movies. I haven’t really practiced. I wanted to learn so I could dance with someone one day.” You chuckled to yourself.
“Does that give me the honor of being the first person you’ve danced with?” Jack’s face reddened a little more.
“Yes,” he muttered.
“Well, I’m honored, Jack Kline.” You sighed as you swayed with him, focusing on his breathing beneath your arms.
After a few moments, you leaned forward and rested your head on his chest. The motion surprised you as much as it surprised him. You never thought about doing that before, but something within you wanted to be close to him.
The next song came on and it was a little more upbeat than the last. You smiled as Jack froze, obviously not knowing what to do. You leaned back a little, studying him, then surprised yourself yet again.
Without warning, you leaned forward and pressed your lips to his. Jack didn’t respond at first. However, when you reached up and smoothed your fingers over his cheek, he leaned into the kiss. His lips curled against yours while his grip on your waist tightened.
Jack chased your lips as you pulled away, forcing a giggle from your throat.
“Well, I wasn’t planning for that to happen tonight,” Jack blurted bluntly.
“What? Dancing with me or kissing me?” Jack glanced away as he nibbled on his bottom lip.
“Both.”
“Well, how was it?” You could tell he was both ecstatic and shocked, which was the most adorable combination you had ever seen on him.
“I—I don’t know. I liked it, a lot, and I want to do it again.” His smile was so sincere, so sweet, that you couldn’t decline his request. So, you reached up and pressed your lips to his again.
The two of you held each other as the music swirled around you. You didn’t want this to end; you didn’t want to be alone tonight. You wanted nothing more than to be with Jack in that moment.
“Where’s my chocolate?” you growled as you entered the kitchen. You were met by the stunned gaze of Castiel, Dean, and Jack. They were all eating snacks and drinking whiskey, except for Jack who didn’t really like the taste. “Well?”
“No one took your chocolate, Y/N,” Dean sighed, rolling his eyes. He always treated you like a little sister, which was both endearing and annoying.
You crossed your arms over your chest. “Um, I never said anything about someone taking it.” You narrowed your gaze at him.
“Did you check your desk? Bedside table?” Cas added lightly, trying to defuse the tension.
“Everywhere in my room,” you answered, not even glancing at him. Your eyes were on Dean. “I was starting to think that someone moved it innocently. But, now that I’m here, I’m thinking it met another fate.” Dean leaned back in his seat.
“I have my own chocolate, Y/N. Plus, if I needed more, I would just go buy it—”
“Even if it was right in front of you?” you snapped. Dean glared at you.
“Yes, Y/N! I don’t take what isn’t mine—”
“Bullshit!” You slammed your hands onto the table, spooking all three on them. You never meant for such a simple argument to become so intense, but this was a serious topic. A very serious topic.
“Who has it?” you asked slowly, glaring mostly at Dean. “I think I can narrow my suspect pool a little, huh Dean?” Dean just threw his hands up and leaned back in his chair.
“I don’t think Dean likes dark chocolate, Y/N,” Jack commented softly. Your gaze snapped over to him, locking on his mouth. A small brown smudge in the right corner of his rosy pick lips caught your eye. Bingo.
“Oh? Is there someone other than me who likes dark chocolate in the bunker? I know Sam doesn’t, and he’s not even here right now.” You grinned at your boyfriend as he smiled innocently back at you. “Castiel can’t taste it, which saddens me a little bit.” You leaned in a little, lowering your face until it was mere inches from his. “And I think you’re right, Jack. I don’t think Dean likes dark chocolate. I don’t think he’s much of a chocolate fan at all. He’s more of a pastry guy.”
Jack’s eyes widened. “I suppose.”
You leaned in a little more and grinned as you smoothed your lips over his. “So, using process of elimination, I only have one suspect left.” You tilted your head, pressing a light kiss over the small smudge. It was sweet, but slightly bitter, confirming your suspicion. “Ha!”
Jack jumped back. “Ah!” he screamed.
“Thief!” you squawked. All three of the men flinched. “You took my chocolate right out of my room! Where is it now? Did you eat it all?” you narrowed your gaze playfully. Jack simply shook his head.
“No. I only had three pieces.” Right.
“Oh, yeah? And where’s the rest?” you interrogated. He lowered his head.
“I-I was hoping you would come looking for it while I was in my room,” he admitted. He let out a deep sigh.
“And, that’s my cue to leave,” Dean huffed, lifting from the table. He glanced at Castiel, who seemed to get the hint, and they both exited, snacks in hand. Jack watched, wide-eyed, as they abandoned him.
“I don’t get it,” he muttered to you. “Was that not appropriate?”
“Ignore them,” you instructed. “They’re annoying.” You winked teasingly, before scowling again. “Why did you take my chocolate, Jack?” your voice was a bit softer this time, but still stern. Jack lowered his head, obviously trying not to look you in the eye.
“I wanted you to come looking for it. I was in my room and wanted you to come join me.” He sucked in a breath as you plopped down onto his lap.
“Why didn’t you just ask?” you interrogated, toying with his hair. “My room is only a few doors down.”
“I saw it in a movie. The main character stole something from the woman he liked and she sought him out to get the object back. When she found him, she realized that she loved him.” Jack’s cheeks flushed a deep red.
You furrowed your brow. “Jack, I already love you. You know that.” Your voice was soft now, almost soothing. Your thumb slowly traced over his cheekbone as you cupped his jaw.
“I know. I just thought that when you found me, we—" Your eyes widened before you could finish his sentence.
“Oh!” A grin curled over your lips. “You thought you could seduce me by stealing my chocolate?” Jack glanced down at the floor again, avoiding your gaze. You took that as a yes. You lifted his chin with your finger. “Next time, maybe try buying me some chocolate instead of stealing my own.” You leaned in and pressed your lips to his. “Or come up with something new.” You huffed a laugh. “Not all things in the movies actually work.”
Jack finally returned your smile, relaxing beneath you. “I’m starting to realize that.” He reached for one of your hands and squeezed it in a silent apology.
The two of you sat like that for a few minutes, before you finally lifted from his lap.
“So, where’s my chocolate?” you asked again, playfully this time. Jack chuckled, rising from his chair.
“In my room, next to my bed,” he answered matter-of-factly. He stared, waiting for you to turn for the hall. But, you just stood there, grinning.
“How about you lead me to it?” you drawled, winking. Jack stared at you for a few seconds, then stiffened, catching your drift.
“I—uh—alright. Sure,” he stuttered. Then, he turned, leading you towards your prize, and your chocolate.

A/N: Yes a short one finally! Just forewarning, this has no spoilers on season 15, well if you haven’t watched the last episode of season 14 then it would be somewhat spoiler, BUT still putting the alert here JUST IN CASE. Nothing huge just a tiny mention of something. This was written for @supernaturaltropecelebration Christmas Mini Bang! I know there aren’t that many Jack fics but this trope just reminded me of how much he is a child sometimes and I just had to write this. Hope you all enjoy it!
My Masterlist
You walked into the library to find Jack kneeling on the floor by the tree you had put up the week after Halloween, looking at the wrapped up presents there. You smiled to yourself as you watched him examine each box, knowing he was looking for the one with his name.
“What did I say about peeking at the presents?”
Jack jumped a bit and turned to look at you, his face flushed red from getting caught.
“I was just curious,” he mumbled as he got back up to his feet, pouting slightly. “Do we really have to wait until tomorrow?”
“Yes, Jack, it’s tradition.”
“Tradition kinda sucks right now,” he pouted, causing you to laugh.
Jack was behaving like a five-year-old he should have been if it weren’t for the fact that he was forced to grow up. Before you moved into the bunker, the Winchesters never made a big deal about Christmas. But once you found out about Jack’s upbringing and what happened with Chuck time ago, you knew you had to give the kid some good memories on these special holidays.
“Ok, I will allow you to open ONE present,” you began, seeing how the kid lit up at that news. “But you will open the one I say, and that will be it. Deal?”
Jack smiled at you and shook his head in agreement. You moved over to the tree and picked out Deans gift to Jack, knowing that he had gotten him a pack of socks since Jack had a habit of losing a pair every now and then. You bent down to grab the wrapped present and handed it to Jack, grunting a bit as you stood up straight. Jack was by your side immediately, helping you.
“Are you ok, (Y/N)?”
“Yeah, just getting harder these days to move around. But go ahead and open it.”
Jack quickly ripped the gift open, smiling at the sight of the socks.
“Dean got them for ya, they are even Star Wars theme since you really like that.”
“I love them! Promise I won’t lose these!”
“Ok, now why don’t you come and help me paint the room we are setting up?”
“Sure!” Jack exclaimed, taking hold of your hand and helping you to the spare room Sam and Dean had cleared out.
It was Christmas morning when the smell of bacon and coffee woke you up. You wrapped yourself up in a fluffy robe Sam had gotten you and made your way to the kitchen. Everyone was there having breakfast, including Cass who had arrived last night. Dean walked over to you with a plate in hand and placed his hand on your lower back.
“Babe, you should have stayed in bed.”
“I’m fine, and it’s Christmas Day. We have presents to unwrap.”
When Jack heard presents, he got up quickly and ran over to you, his eyes wide like a child.
“We can open them now?”
“Well, let (Y/N) eat first and then we can open presents,” Dean stated, trying to guide you to the table.
“I can eat in the library and you guys already finished. Let’s go open presents.”
Jack took your hand and walked with you to the library, Cass, Sam and Dean right behind you. Once Dean got you settled in a chair and everyone had their cup of coffee, Jack went straight for the presents, a wide smile on his face. He grabbed a box and turned to Sam.
“Thank you for the books, Sam! I can’t wait to read them!”
You looked at Sam, confused for a moment as Jack took out a set of books from the box Sam had them in. Jack did the same when he opened Cass’s present, which was a few items of clothing, mainly shirts with Jack’s favorite pop culture designs. As Jack grabbed hold of the gift Jody sent with Cass, you spoke up.
“Jack, sweetheart, how did you know what Cass and Sam got you before opening them?”
Jack’s smile dropped and he looked down at his lap.
“I couldn’t help it, I wanted to know what I had gotten, so last night I came in and peeked using my powers.”
You sighed and shook your head, understanding that he was still a child in some ways. You called him over and took his hand in yours.
“I understand you wanted to know. But I told you not to peek so you would get the surprise today. It’s a lot more fun when you are taken by surprise.”
“I’m sorry,” he responded softly.
“It’s ok, Jack, I understand this is your first Christmas. But let’s try to not peek next year, yeah?”
“We are still going to do Christmas next year?”
“Of course,” Sam answered for you. “(Y/N) loves Christmas and it’s nice being able to do it properly, and enjoy the holiday with family for once in our lives.”
Jack smiled at everyone, and when he looked at you, he wrapped his arms around you, hugging you gently.
“Thank you, (Y/N).”
“Always here for you, sweetheart,” you whispered to him.
Once you pulled apart, you kissed Jack on his forehead and let him finish unwrapping the rest of his presents. You whispered to Dean and he left the room, coming back with a small box in hand. You called to Jack and handed it to him.
“This isn’t much, but I thought you might like this.”
Jack quickly opened it and took out a photo album. On the cover was a family picture you took during Thanksgiving. Inside were pictures you took throughout the year of everyone. Pictures of dinners and fun moments throughout the entire year. Snapshots of everyone smiling to the camera and other pictures they didn’t even know were taken. It was at the end of the album that you knew would mean a lot to Jack.
There in the last few pages, there were pictures of you and Kelly back in your college days. Pictures of Kelly in her graduation gown and pictures of her before Lucifer got into her life. You could see the tears in Jack’s eyes as he looked at the pictures of his mother. He looked up at you and walked back to you, hugging you gently but filled with love.
“Thank you for the present, I love it, and I love you. You have been a great mother to me and I bet my mom would be happy to know you are with me.”
“I love you, to Jack. Always will and you have been the best son I could ever have.”
Jack kissed your cheek and walked over to Cass and Sam, showing off the album. You fought back the tears, blaming it on your hormones, as Dean leaned in and placed a soft kiss on your cheek.
“You are going to be an awesome mom.”
“I hope so,” you whispered back, touching your swollen belly. “You think Jack won’t mind if we name our daughter after his mother?”
“Bet he will love it. He already adores her like a big brother.”
“You hear that little Charlie Kelly Winchester?” you whispered towards your belly as Dean rubbed it with both his hands lovingly. “Your big brother Jack Winchester is going to love and protect you just like the rest of us.”
Warnings: fluff, heavy kissing. That’s pretty much it.

The cool ground beneath you soothed your skin. The stifling, humid air around you wasn’t cooling off nearly fast enough. Even now, at just after midnight, there was a thin layer of sweat down your chest as across your brow.
But, the slight discomfort was very much worth it. The stars were so visible from the hunter’s safe house that Jody had asked Dean to meet her at earlier in the day. And now, you were stuck there for the night.
Southeastern Kentucky was nothing like the bright lights you had lived under for most of your life. The Los Angeles skies were riddled with light pollution, and you rarely had any luck finding a quiet place to relax anywhere in that city. The red clay dirt and tree-lined mountains that surrounded you were oddly calming and incredibly beautiful.
And, the best thing was, Jack loved looking at the stars just as much as you did. Sam had given him a book about astronomy a few months back, so Jack took advantage of every opportunity to show off his newly acquired knowledge.
“And up there, that’s Venus,” he whispered beside you, his light golden locks resting gently on his hand. “It has the slowest rotation of any planet we know about, and takes about two thirds of an Earth year to rotate just once. Oh, and its days are longer than its years!” You turned towards him just in time to catch the sweet grin across his lips. You found the information interesting but found it hard to focus.
But, that’s how it usually went when you were around Jack.
You turned back to the sky but didn’t ask another question. You just laid there and enjoyed one of the few moments you had alone with the handsome young Nephilim.
Jack let out a deep sigh and turned his head towards you. “Y/N, if you could be anything, what would you be?”
You chuckled and turned to him. “You mean, for a living? Besides being a hunter?” Jack nodded. “Huh, I never really thought about it.”
“Why not?” he asked innocently. You shrugged.
“I don’t know. I mean, I studied Anthropology in college, but that was only because my dad urged me to.” You stretched an arm above you for a moment, then turned yourself a little bit more towards Jack.
“He urged you to go to college, even though he trained you to be a hunter?” Jack questioned, tilting his head ever so slightly.
“Yep. It was all part of the plan. You learn a lot of useful information in Anthropology classes, even if it’s only described as ‘folklore’.” Jack slowly nodded, but you were confident he was still a little confused. But, it didn’t matter. You didn’t want to talk about school. Those weren’t exactly the years you reminisced about as you drifted off to sleep each night.
“But, to answer your question, I’d probably work with animals. Like, as a vet or something,” you explained, enjoying the hint of a daydream that clouded your mind.
“You like animals? Did you have pets as a kid?” Boy, he was full of questions, wasn’t he?
“I had a dog, a terrier thing that my dad adopted from the pound when I was in seventh grade. We named her Sugar, and we had her for ten years or so. She went on hunts with my dad every once in a while, but usually stayed home with me and mom.” You cleared your throat. “But, that was it. I really like cats, but never had the chance to own one.”
Jack nodded, still smiling. “I like animals too. Cats are a little hard to read, but I’ve met a few that have walked up to me when I go on walks. I really like old dogs. I feel like they have amazing stories that they can never tell us.” You giggled as you unknowingly scooted a little closer to Jack.
“What about you, Jack? What would you want to do with your life? If you could choose?” Jack pursed his lips and furrowed his brow, then smiled yet again.
“I would like to explore space,” Jack answered innocently.
“As an astronaut? Like, actually going up into space?” Jack nodded.
“I’d also love to help discover new planets and stars. Maybe they would name one after me!” you laughed, making Jack laugh a little.
“I think that would be a great idea, Jack.” You turned back up to the sky, rolling back onto your back. “That sounds really cool.”
“Yeah, but I like this life better,” Jack rebutted. You turned your face back to him.
“Oh yeah? And why is that?” Jack was quiet for a moment.
“Well, because I met you in this life. And I don’t want to live a life without you in it.” Your heart nearly jumped out of your chest at his words. Sure, you had only known Jack for a little while, and like Dean, believed he was evil at first. But now, he felt just like a peer, like a hunter in training, eager to learn.
And, above all else, he was a friend.
You stared up at the sky in a state of shock. “Um, wow, I don’t know what to say to that, Jack.”
“You don’t agree?” You shot back to him.
“What? No! I mean, of course I agree! I just didn’t think you felt that strongly about me.” You let out a long, deep sigh.
“What do you mean? Of course, I do! You’re my friend. And I’m really happy when I’m around you. I want to spend time with you, like all the time. And I’m sad when you’re hurt or when you’re not around,” Jack rambled. He rolled completely onto his side and smiled over to you. “I always have the urge to be near you, like sitting next to you or hugging you.” That last sentence almost made your stomach leap into your throat.
“You—really?” You pursed your lips, then turned onto your side to face Jack.
“Yeah. And, um—” Jack swallowed hard. “I’ve also thought about kissing you.” That was it, your heart was going to burst through your chest. There was no question.
“K-Kiss me? Wow.”
Jack’s eyes suddenly widened. “Is that not okay?”
You shot up onto your left arm and shook your head violently. “No! I mean, yes! Jack, that’s totally fine. I just, I didn’t know you felt the same way.” You paused for a moment, watching the sweet smile return to his face.
“The same way? You want to kiss me too?” You simply nodded, fighting the urge to giggle. You felt like you had a middle school crush again.
“Yeah, Jack. I have for a while.”
Jack inched forward a little. “Do you mind if I kiss you now?” he whispered. His gaze flicked down to your lips. You grinned and nodded.
“Go ahead.”
Jack blinked, then leaned in, stopping just short of your face. A shuttered breath escaped him before he closed the gap between you, pressing his lips firmly against yours. At first, his movements were awkward, applying a little too much pressure. But, he quickly captured your lip between his teeth, unleashing a completely different side of him.
Jack pulled away abruptly, panting a little. You stared at him with wide eyes and huffed.
“Where the hell did you learn that?” you breathed in shock. Jack’s cheeks reddened and he turned away.
“I watch a lot of romance movies. I like to pretend it’s you and me.” You couldn’t help but giggle at how cheesy he sounded, but it didn’t matter. You loved the softness and hint of edginess that was radiating from him.
“That’s… adorable.” You reached out and took his hand in yours. Jack blushed and quickly looked away again. You tried to follow his gaze but squeezed his hand instead. “Would you like to kiss me again?” His eyes snapped back to you.
“Yes,” he breathed just as he leaned in, without hesitation this time.
Jack’s movements were a little frantic, but you didn’t mind taking the reins. Jack pulled his hand from yours, smoothing it up your arm, shoulder, neck. The moment his hands snaked up into your hair, you leaned back, pulling him down with you. He quickly found his way on top of you, hovering over you as he slowed down, softening his touches.
You both stayed like that for what felt like an hour. But, the sound of footsteps on the dirt behind you quickly ripped the two of you apart.
“Oh, I wondered where you two went. Watching the stars, huh?” Dean chuckled mockingly. “I can see you’re very interested in the stars.”
“Oh, shut it, Dean,” you hissed, lifting yourself from the ground. You patted the dust off you and turned towards the older Winchester.
“We were watching the stars most of the time,” Jack defended innocently.
“Oh, I bet you were seeing all sorts of stars,” Dean teased as he turned to walk away. “Glad you two are alive. Goodnight,” he saluted, heading back for the small cabin. You rolled your eyes then turned back to Jack.
“He really knows how to spoil a special moment.” You ran your fingers through your hair and waited for Jack to dust himself off. His hair stuck up in a few places, making you smile.
“Yeah, but we’ll have another chance to do that, right?” Jack met your gaze. You nodded.
“Oh yeah, I think I can make that work.” You shot him a wink, then held out your hand. “C’mon. Let’s get to sleep. I’m sure it’s well into the morning right now.” Jack took your hand.
“Are we all going to fit into the cabin?” Jack asked, suddenly concerned.
“We’re gonna have to. I have a sleeping bag, and I found another one for you. Sam and Dean claimed the rooms, since there’s only one twin bed in each room. The couch is open too, but it’s a loveseat, so it’s a little bit small. Cas said he’s just going to hang out in one of the chairs. So, we have the luxury of sleeping on the floor in the main room.” You led Jack up the front steps of the tiny cabin and reached for the door.
“That doesn’t sound too bad. As long as you’re there too.” His sweetness made your stomach flutter.
“Oh, I’m here. You can’t get rid of me that easily.” Jack stared at you in confusion. You huffed a laugh, then leaned over, pressing a kiss onto his cheek.

Wayward Moeyy’s Master List
Jack shuffled towards your door with a small bag of your favorite chocolate candies in hand. He pushed open the slightly ajar door, excited to see the look on your face.
“Y/N!” he announced as he walked into your room. He turned to your bed, but you weren’t in your usual spot. “Y/N?” he called out, peering around the room. There was no sign of you at your desk, or near your prized bookshelf. You were nowhere to be found.
As Jack’s search became more and more frantic, he began to realize something. Your room felt unusually… empty. Your favorite pillow was missing from your bed, most of your photos were gone from the walls, and the only remaining item on your desk was the ancient lamp that loomed over the fading wood.
“Y/N?!” Jack cried one more time as he stood beside your baron desk, tears threatening in his eyes. “Where are you?” he whispered.
Footsteps stomped down the hall, closing in on Jack. Sam quickly entered the doorway with a startled look on his face.
“Jack, what’s going on?” he asked, quickly approaching the younger man. “Where’s Y/N?”
Jack shook his head. “I don’t know—” Just as he answered, he spotted something on your desk, just behind the lamp. A small note on aged, lined paper staring back at him. He slowly reached for the paper, instantly recognizing your handwriting.
Jack,
Please understand that what you are about to read is in no way your fault. You have done nothing wrong. If anything, you have been the best thing in my life this far, and that’s why I have to leave.
I have been having nightmares about your death for several weeks now, and I can’t ignore them any longer. I have to figure out if there is truth behind it. And, until I find that out, I can’t be with you. I have a feeling that these dreams have something to do with me. And, if I’m that source of this, I can’t bare the fact that being near you may put your life at risk.
Jack, remember that I love you. Please believe me when I say, again, that this is not your fault. You are amazing, powerful, and kind, and I know you are going to do so much good for this world.
If you’re reading this, Jack, I’m already gone. Please don’t try to find me. That may put you in danger.
Promise me that you will continue to be exactly who you are. The world needs more people like you, Jack.
I love you with all of my heart. Be safe.
- Y/N
Jack’s hand shook as he reread the words on the page. Sam loomed over him, letting out slow breaths as he read along. A large hand squeezed Jack’s shoulder as tears began to stain the page.
“W-Why would she leave? Why didn’t she ask for help?” Jack shook his head ever so slightly, forcing more tears to fall. “She said she loved me. You don’t leave people you love.”
Sam sighed. “That’s not always true, Jack. Sometimes we have to leave people if being around them might put them in danger, especially in this field. Dean’s left people, I’ve left people. It’s part of the job.” He tip-toed his way to stand in front of Jack, but Jack didn’t look up. “She loves you, and these nightmares seem like they are really scaring her. She’s been looking kind of ragged lately, so they must have been happening for a while.”
“Then she shouldn’t be alone!” Jack argued though his teeth. “What if it’s something getting into her head and trying to scare her into a trap! We can’t be alone!” Jack rushed to his feet, clutching the note to his chest. “We have to go find her, Sam! She could be walking into danger!”
Jack turned towards the door, but Sam quickly stopped him. “You may be right, Jack. But, we can’t just rush after her.” Jack turned to the younger Winchester and narrowed his gaze.
“Why don’t you want to find her?” Jack’s eyes suddenly widened with realization. “Wait, did you know about this? About her leaving?” Jack took a step back when Sam hesitated.
“Jack, I didn’t know she was definitely leaving. But, she’s been growing distant, and I know something was troubling her—”
“And you didn’t ask if she needed help? Rowena could help her, or Castiel! They could see if there was magic behind it!” He sucked in a seething breath. “We’re a family. We help each other.”
Sam turned away, as if he knew he was losing this war. “I know, Jack. I messed up.” Jack could tell that he truly meant that, but it didn’t change anything. Sam didn’t say anything, or bring up his suspicions, and now they had no idea if you were in danger, or even alive.
“Jack, I’m sorry—” Jack pulled away from Sam and stormed out of the room. He couldn’t look at the man who may have sent you into danger for the sake of your privacy. Sam knew better than that. It almost felt like he didn’t care, or he was just too conflicted to think straight. Either way, you were gone, and Jack didn’t know how to process it all.
When Dean and Cas learned that you were gone, Dean of course freaked out at his younger brother who didn’t bother fighting back. For four days, the team searched up and down for you, but came up with nothing. You were absolutely nowhere to be found.
Jack hadn’t eaten since you left. Sure, he didn’t need to eat as much as an average human, but four days was still far too long. He couldn’t think straight, and his emotions were only getting more severe.
Jack sauntered into the bunker’s library, where he found Sam on the phone. He was talking quietly, facing away from Jack. As Jack inched closer, he could hear that Sam was leaving a message for someone.
“Please, we’re all worried sick, and it’s all my fault. Jack won’t even talk to me anymore. I honestly didn’t think you would leave. Please, come back home. We can work this out together. We need you, Y/N. Jack needs you—Shit.” He immediately threw his phone onto the table and cupped his face in his hands. “Fuck!”
“Sam?” Jack asked, slowly approaching. “Did you hear from Y/N?” Sam turned around, his face reddened and his eyes swollen from tears.
Sam sucked in a deep breath. “I’ve left four voicemails, and now her mailbox is full. I know Dean has left a few too. She’s obviously not getting them.” He sniffled and raised from his seat. “I’m so sorry Jack.” Jack peered down at his feet.
“You didn’t really think she was going to leave?” Jack inquired softly. Sam shook his head.
“I thought—knew—something was wrong, and that she may take a break to figure things out, but I never thought she would leave for good.” Sam lowered his head again. “This is such a fucking disaster.”
Just then, Dean entered the room. He slipped his phone into his pocket and threw his head back in obvious frustration. “Her fucking voicemail is full,” He huffed. “Where the freaking hell could she be?”
“Anywhere by now,” Sam answered somberly.
A moment later, a large bang echoed though the bunker. All eyes were on the front door above them, which suddenly slammed opened. Dean and Sam pulled out their firearms, aiming it at the empty doorway.
But, seconds later, a familiar face entered.
Jack sucked in a deep breath. “Y/N.”
“Jack,” you rasped as you took a step into the bunker. Your hands were shaking at your sides, and your vision was blurred by your tears. “I’m so sorry.” The Nephilim’s silver-blue gaze met yours as he stood there, frozen in what must have been either fear or awe. Maybe even both.
Dean slipped his gun back into his waistband, his brow twisting. “Y/N, what the fuck? What made you think that just up and leaving when you’re in trouble was a good idea?” His voice boomed in your ears, making you wince.
“Dean, I didn’t want—”
Jack sprinted towards you, interrupting your thoughts. He leapt up the stairs, skipping every other one, almost falling several times. When he reached the top, he paused for a moment, staring at you with a sweet smile.
“I thought we lost you.” His voice shook as he whispered his words. “I thought I lost you.” He took another step towards you. “We thought something horrible happened to you.” He took another step. “I thought you may have been—” He couldn’t get the last word out, but you knew exactly what he was going to say.
“Jack, I’m so sorry. I thought I was protecting you. But, when I left, the nightmares only got worse. I needed to come back and make sure they didn’t come true.” You clenched your fist. “I’m so confused. I want to stay away in case whatever may be coming is after me, but I want to be here to protect you. I love—” You started to shake violently as your emotions built up in your head. It was all too much. There was no freaking way one person could process everything that was floating around in your mind.
Jack closed the gap between the two of you, taking your hand in his. “I understand, Y/N. You were conflicted. It’s hard to process all of that alone.” He squeezed your hand. “I just wished you would have asked for help.”
You nodded at him and sighed. A small part of you wondered why Jack was bring so calm, but he was probably in just as much shock as you were. You were completely exhausted, and all you wanted to do was crawl into your bed and pray that you wouldn’t be plagued by another nightmare.
“I know we you’re mad, but I need to rest before we go into this any further,” you requested, peering at each of the men staring at you. Dean crossed his arms and nodded. Sam, simply offered an emotionless smile. They were pissed and worried; you knew that. You’d known them for over five years, and you knew those looks all too well. But, they would have to wait.
Jack kept hold of your hand as you headed back to your room, not uttering a word to each other the whole way there.
However, the moment the two of you entered the room and closed the door behind you, Jack quickly wrapped you in his arms. His body shuttered as he held you against him.
“I thought you were gone,” he muttered against your ear. You just sank into him, taking in the light smell of vanilla and spice that always surrounded him. You reached up and encircled his neck with your arms.
“I’m here, Jack. I’m sorry.” You gazed up into his eyes. He met your gaze, then leaned in, locking his lips on yours. The desperation in his kiss made your heart flutter as his hands snagged onto your sides in an effort to pull you impossibly close. Jack had never kissed you like this before, never with this much emotion and need. But, in that moment, it was exactly what you wanted. You just wanted to hold him close and never let go.
Jack’s teeth latched onto your bottom lip while his hand smoothed up your neck to your cheek. His other hand clasped onto your hip for dear life. You gasped as his tongue slipped between your lips, dominating your mouth like it was the only thing keeping him alive. Your tongues swirled together and your teeth clanked in the furious spiral of emotions that fueled you. Then, everything finally slowed as you finally calmed.
When Jack finally pulled away, he kept you close. His tear ridden eyes studied your face. His cheeks were red from both raw emotion, and whatever was fueling that kiss.
“Jack, I—”
“Please don’t apologize anymore. I just want you here with me.” He pressed his forehead against yours. “We’ll figure this all out later.” You nodded against him.
“Okay.” You pulled your face away, just to press your lips to his again. Sure, there was fear looming in your mind with not knowing if Jack was really in danger. But, you had quickly learned that you were surrounded by people who were there for you, who loved you. And that’s what mattered. That’s what made you realize that whatever was going to happen, you weren’t alone.

A/N: It’s been a while since I’ve written something and I’m still getting back in the groove. But, here’s this.
Wayward Moeyy’s Master List
You gently scrubbed the dark wooden table in front of you, letting out a deep sigh. Finally, no one was in your home. It had been a revolving door over the last several months, with hunters coming and going as spooky things rolled into town.
One group of hunters who had all but moved into your place for nearly three months finally were on their way back home too. Not that you didn’t adore the Winchesters and their sassy angel friend, but you could only take so much of the craziness they left in their wake.
Although, their newest friend was very polite, even helpful when it came to small things around your little cabin safe-house. Jack. Yes, sweet Jack. Half-angel, Son of Satan, adorably handsome, and a master of getting even the toughest smears off of your windows.
The only reason you knew that was because the poor lad was always left behind when Dean, Sam, and Cas left to fight whatever bad guy was out there. So, naturally, you put him to work. Of course, when the other men returned, the place was a mess in a matter of minutes.
But now, the place was quiet and clean. Sam and Dean had left earlier that day on their way back to the bunker, while Cas and Jack checked out a small case in town.
You smiled as you threw the filthy rag into your small washing machine and sighed. Sure, you loved helping anyone who came though, most of them being your long-time friends. But, it was also nice to have absolutely nothing to take care of but yourself and your dog, Miko.
You jumped as someone knocked on the door, causing Miko to bark. Who the hell was that? You weren’t expecting anyone as far as you knew. The visitor knocked again. Hmm. You approached the door and softly rested your ear against the cool wood. All you could hear was shuffling, followed by a distressed hiss.
“Who is it?” you inquired firmly.
“Y/N? It’s Jack.” He hissed again, sounding painful. “May I come in?” It sounded like his voice, but why the hell was he alone? Cas should have been with him, at least according to Dean’s plan from this morning.
“If it isn’t Jack, I’m going to make you wish you weren’t on my doorstep. You hear me?” you threatened. Something was definitely off.
“It’s me,” Jack answered with a quiver. You sucked in a deep breath, then swung the door open. Jack’s soft, blue gaze stared back at you with a pained smile. He was holding his right hand against his shirt, which was spotted with blood. His lower lip was cut on the side, and there was a smear of blood on his cheek.
“Oh my god, Jack.” Your eyes widened as you quickly ushered him in. Your stomach sank at the amount of blood on his white shirt. “What the hell happened?” Jack released his hand and held it in front of him.
“Cas and I went to check out a possible werewolf.” He sat in one of the chairs at your newly cleaned table.
“And—Wait a second.” You peered out your window, then back at Jack. “Where’s Cas?”
“He went after the werewolf. I’m not bitten, just cut up.” Jack wiggled his fingers and winced. The top of his hand had a long, but mostly superficial gash. It would heal on its own with a few stitches.
“And he dropped you off on the way?” Your tone was a mixture of sarcastic and irritated. “And now you’re my problem?”
Jack lowered his head. “I wanted to go with Cas, but he said no. I’m not supposed to use what’s left of my grace to heal myself.” He closed his eyes. “I’m sorry.”
You shook your head. “Don’t be sorry. I’m not mad. I’m just—I don’t understand why they treat you like you’re made of glass.” Jack swallowed as he watched you reach into a cabinet and retrieve your medical kit. “They leave you behind most of the time. And, when they do take you along with them, they return you after one scratch.” You rolled your eyes.
“It’s because I’m basically human now—”
“So are they! Sam and Dean are both completelyhuman, and so am I. That doesn’t mean anything. They’re just too lazy to train you properly.” You rolled your eyes again as you set up what you needed to mend Jack’s hand. “Don’t let them treat you like a toddler, Jack. You’re brilliant, and you are so eager to learn.” You pulled his hand over the small cloth you had laid over the table. You gently smoothed your fingers over his in an attempt to sooth him. “Listen, if they don’t want to help you become a well-trained hunter, then I will.” You glanced up at him while grabbing the bottle of rubbing alcohol. “This is going to hurt, love.”
Jack winced and gasped as you cleaned his wound. “You—ow—you’d do that?” You nodded.
“Yeah. I mean, you’re about as intellectually mature as I am, and probably half as stubborn. I’m sure you’ll catch on quickly.” You very gently dabbed the blood off his hand and face. “We can prove the brothers wrong.” You captured his gaze as you smoothed the rag over his cheek. He had gorgeous eyes, and the sweetest smile. Honestly, everything about him was almost calming. It was refreshing to have someone with such a happy energy around you compared to the rough and tumble hunters you were usually surrounded by.
Jack pursed his lips, then smiled. “Sam thinks it would be a good idea to train me better, but Dean seems to be more in charge.” Jack lowered his head a little more. “Cas exposes me to what he can, but I don’t really know what I’m doing. Reading about how to handle something is so much different than actually doing it.” You nodded. He was really smart, and he knew he had boundaries like everyone else. Dean, as aware and calculating as that infuriating man was, didn’t quite seem to see that.
“Well, my house if just a few hours drive from the bunker. How about we meet once a week for now, and I can teach you what you need to know. You can even stay the night if it gets too late. It’s not like I don’t have enough room.” You smiled as you readied the suture material. “Dean doesn’t have to agree. I’ll pick you up my damn self if he doesn’t like it.” Jack chuckled.
“You and Dean argue like family,” Jack noted. You chuckled lightly.
“We practically are. Almost the same person, actually. Accept, I’m far more reasonable.” You smiled. “Anyway, do we have a deal?” Jack smiled wider than you had ever seen and nodded. “Good. Now, try to hold still. I don’t have much to numb this. It’s going to hurt, but you only need four at the most.” You raised an eyebrow. “Do you want to close your eyes?” Jack shook his head.
“Sam and Dean don’t.”
“Yeah, but they’ve been doing this for years. There’s a learning curve, love.” You took Jack’s other hand and squeezed it. The warmth of his skin quickly transferred to yours, making you blush. You shook your head, momentarily thrown off by your reaction, before refocusing on what you were saying. “You don’t have to be tough right away.” Jack’s gaze locked on yours.
“Well, I need to start somewhere.” Jack offered you a hint of a smile, then nodded towards your medical equipment. “And I’m starting here.” You couldn’t help but laugh a little. He was so sweet, so caring. But now, you would see a strength inside Jack that you never noticed before. It wasn’t the same as Dean or Sam, or even Cas. It wasn’t driven by pride or purpose or the need to prove himself. It was driven by a need to protect himself and the ones around him.
Once Jack’s hand was mended and bandaged, you stood him up. He needed a new shirt, and something to eat. He didn’t seem to eat as much as you did, which was probably part of being half-angel, but he still ate somewhat regular meals.
You prepared a peanut butter sandwich and handed it to the battered Nephilim before hunting down a clean shirt for him. Jack took it happily and munched as he followed you in the hunt for a shirt that was close to his size. Luckily, plenty of hunters leave something behind, so you have a ‘take what you need’ closet in the hall.
“There,” you beamed as you handed Jack a plain, gray long-sleeved shirt. “That should fit just fine. I washed it last week. The hunter who left it behind was roughly your size.” Jack shoved the last part of his sandwich into his mouth, then lifted his stained shirt over his head, dropping it onto the floor. You took a step back and turned, feeling your cheeks redden. What the hell was going on? He was just changing his shirt. And it was Jack, the sweet little Nephilim that the Winchesters were caring for. He was a friend.
You turned back just in time to see Jack straightening his sleeves. “Perfect,” he praised with a smile. You nodded, then led him to your small living room.
Once Jack was situated on the couch, he glanced up at you and smiled. You stared at each other for a moment. Then, you took a seat beside him, but didn’t say a word.
“Were you uncomfortable when I removed my shirt?” Jack asked bluntly. You snapped your gaze back up to Jack as your heart instantly started to race.
“Um, uncomfortable isn’t the right word.” You could feel your heart nearly leap out of your chest. Did he see how red your face got? You sucked in a deep breath. “I don’t know if I can explain it.” And that was the honest truth. Something about Jack was stirring you up, and you couldn’t tell if it was a new feeling, or if it had been silently brewing. Either way, it was now rearing its confusing head.
Jack nodded slowly. “I know my powers are weakened, but I can hear your heartbeat. It’s fast and really loud, louder thank normal.” The flush returned to your cheeks. This time, you were sure he could see it.
“I—uh—yeah.” Jack rested his hand on yours, lacing your fingers. He held them on the sofa between you.
“It’s okay, Y/N. My heart does the same thing when I’m with you. It started the moment we got here. You probably can’t feel it or hear it, but it does.” He lifted your hand up and rested the back of your hand against his chest. You smiled as you felt his heart pound rapidly against your skin.
“Jack—”
“I know I’ve only just met you. But, I feel safe with you. You make me smile. And, with each day that passed, I didn’t want to leave here. When I got hurt, I knew I needed to be here. And earlier, when you offered to help train me, I felt like jumping up in the air with happiness.” You laughed, rolling your eyes.
“I can’t really see you doing that, but I get the point.” You turned away for a moment as everything started to sink in. Fifteen minutes ago, you thought of Jack as a sweet soul who needed some direction. But now, the truth was out.
And he felt the same way, whatever this feeling actually was.
Jack leaned towards you, smiling. “Would—um—would you mind if I kissed you?” Well, if your heart wasn’t pounding before, it definitely was now.
“I—uh—okay,” you breathed. Your glances battled each other for a moment, then Jack lean in towards you.
His warm lips grazed over yours, almost teasingly, sparking a fire deep in your chest. You could feel his lips curl into a smile before finally settling, strong and sure, unlike the Jack you thought you knew. His grip on your hand tightened as his lips parted ever so slightly, letting out a soft breath. You could feel the small cut on his bottom lip, but it didn’t seem to bother him at all as he slowly moved his lips with yours.
Jack slowly pulled back, smiling down at you. Well, that happened. Just a few minutes ago, you were stitching up his hand. And now, well, this. Everything felt like such a blur, but you could remember every moment. It was just, different. It wasn’t like anything you had ever felt before.
Jack cocked his head to the side and furrowed his brow. “Is everything alright?” The look of concern on his face was almost priceless. You stood from the sofa and chuckled.
“Everything’s great.” Then, your whole tone changed. You grinned, offering your hand to Jack. “Ready for your lessons to begin?” Jack’s eyes suddenly widened.
“Well, I mean, okay.” Jack took your head and stood. “What’s my first lesson going to be?” he asked rather sweetly, almost as if he’s hoping for you to go easy on him.
“Today, we’re going to learn how to block a punch.” You grinned at him as you began pulling him towards the door to your back yard. You glanced back at Jack, who looked as stunned as ever.
“You—you’re going to punch me?” You laughed at the quiver in his voice.
“Not if you can block me,” you teased. But, Jack didn’t seem to get your humor. That was a lesson for another time.
Once you both were outside, Jack stared at you with pure fear. You took a few steps forward so you were only inches from him.
“Jack, I’m not actuallygoing to punch you. I’m going to move slowly, and let you get used to blocking techniques. Then, we’ll speed up as you improve.” Jack’s whole body relaxed, and he nodded. You took a half-step back, then stopped. “Oh, and a kiss for good luck.” You leaned forward and pressed your lips softly to his for a moment. Then, you took a few steps back.
Jack’s cheek bones flushed, but you could tell he was trying to maintain his composure. He lifted his arms in front of him, making you smile. Maybe this was going to be easier than you thought.
“Okay, Jack, let’s get started.”
