A Fourth Wing project of Jack Barlowe from last year. It was the first time I tested out empty curve for hair creation, and had to use my mouse because I don’t own a tablet anymore and my IPad refused to connect to my PC 🙂
As a second test, I also somewhat managed to export the head textures from a Metahuman avatar I created prior. I am debating whether I want to do the post texturing in the Blender engine or Substance Painter.
I still think he is a bit too chiseled and handsome for Jack. So I think I will reuse the mesh for another character in the future.
Don't confuse Jack's responsibility for obedience passivity. He enjoys bending the rules a little after the work is done. He's the type of friend who'd stand behind you in any fight, and help you clean up the subsequent mess. In fact, he tends to excel at fixing other people's problems and can get so caught up in doing so that he forgets to deal with his own problems.

BACKGROUND / BIO
The Barlowe boys come in threes. It was a saying that became a routine and then a belief. Three brothers waiting at the bus stop with three matching backpacks. Three years separating one from the next in age. For Jack, the three times that he broke his left wrist learning to skateboard. And, subsequently, the three hamsters they kept, named for ninja turtles. In the Barlowe household, the best and the worst things came in threes.
Jack was the middle brother and born in Boston, though the city has flattened in his memory. In that regard, so has his father. After his parents divorced George Barlowe took his life across the country. He's a birthday card and a hundred bucks tucked in an envelope to Jack. He's a phone call on Christmas morning. His mother, picked up the pieces. She built them a life off her own work, and that new life found it's roots in Merrock.
Growing up, Jack was at worst an enabler and at best a mediator. He always had one foot in for antics and the other wedged in the good graces of the town. He was generally good-humored and received high marks at school. The 'good boy' of the brothers that for homecoming one year snuck hens into Merrock High School. (Subsequent bird chasing by the chaperones was amusing entertainment.) Two partners came and went before he struck gold on the third. His girlfriend was his partner in crime and his confidant. One year passed, then two with them together and he started to imagine life flowing out before them like a river.
After graduation, he studied computer sciences and worked part-time to save up money. He had no ambitions or designs on leaving Merrock. In fact, he'd grown to love the little town, and all the little problems he could see right before diner. This, unfortunately, was what spelled the end for him and his girlfriend. And he knew it before it came. Avoided it the first time she asked to talk. Delayed it the second time. And, inevitably, accepted it when the news fell like a hammer. She was leaving. He wouldn't come with. It was as simple as that.
In the years following, he dusted himself off, got his degree, and started working at Fix Me. He lives now with his younger brother in an apartment in Downtown Merrock. And, if you asked his mother, it wouldn't surprise her where he's ended up. Jack has always been a fixer.
Jack (he/him, cis man) was born on April 29, 1993 in Boston, MA and arrived to Merrock in summer, 1999. They prefer to be called Jack, work as IT at Fix Me, and their stomping grounds are the coastal area. (Joe Keery; Kate | she/her | EST). FILLING CONNECTION: na.
