At Fargrounds is a sweeping document of folk traditions, a description that makes it sound far more boring, academic than it actually is. What really needs emphasising is this record’s beauty. Sure, this isn’t the greatest guitar play ever (and indeed all gets quite samey) but considering the scope this pulls together exemplarily.
