Three Fingered Jack aka Jack Mansong was around in Jamaica in the 1780s. Once he decided that being a slave was no longer an option be went on to become a legend as the terror of Jamaica. Jack Mansong's story started with a rescue of a man named Captain Henry Harrock. Henry was on a slave hunting expedition when he was saved from drowning by an African named Makro and his wife, Amri. Who were said to have come from Gambia. The dirty bastard repaid them by tricking them into a boat ride that was taking them to Jamaica to become slaves. Makro realized all to late what was going on and he started fighting, the men that were in on the treachery beat him to death. Amri who was pregnant with Jack was sold into slavery. From the moment Jack could walk she made sure that he knew what happened and who did it to them. When Jack grew up he was said to be of Ike Catcher like proportions, hence that 2nd pic and anywhere from 6'9-7 feet tall. Word got back to Jack that Captain Harrock was staying at the estate that Jack was at. So he started planning a rebellion. Of course someone snitched and he was arrested and sentenced to death. Jack escaped killing 2 guards, he went and told his mother goodbye and kidnapped Harrock and took him into the hills with him. He chained Harrock to a wall as he began his campaign as a guerilla fighter. Jack put fear in the Jamaican slavers and the British in the UK. Both wrote extensively about him. During his time as an outlaw, he often got into it with the Moore Town Maroons. These dudes were the bounty hunters of runaway slaves because of a treaty that they had with the whites in Jamaica. So yeah not all Maroons were on our side. One named Quashee is who cut two of Jack's fingers off which gave him his nickname and he's credited with having killed Jack. The Moore Town Maroons and Scott's Hall Maroon were on the hunt for Jack to collect the big reward on his head.
