Jackson: You can trust me.
Ash: I don’t even trust the way you just now said I could trust you.
Jackson: I've got some skills.
Someone: What kind of skills?
Jackson: You have a .45 under the counter and a shotgun next to the register, and I can get to them both before you.
TFLN: beckett siblings edition
When you grow up without a parent, you have to fight the constant feeling that you are broken, damaged, fucked up, not worth time, attention, or love. You are grateful for scraps of affection from anyone who will give them, and you hate yourself for it because your need is so palpable, so raw, so transparent, and no matter how hard you try, you can’t hide it.
Jackson: Luke I'm gonna need you to go with Ash secure a deal in an hour.
Luke: -closes book suddenly- uh, sure.
Jackson: -slinks closer- what were you reading?
Luke: an electronics manual.
Jackson: yeah, shit. -snatches it-
Luke:
Jackson: "Springtime Passion." You're disgusting.
Public sex is not a fantasy for Jackson. It's a custom. In the back of locals, in alleyways, in restrooms, one way or the other. He argues it's practical.
Extremely intelligent; had to drop out of high school, so he doesn’t even have a diploma. Lazy but he with talent for math and physics. Most of his knowledge in things is self-taught, and he likes to read, so he’s a bit of a Wicked Cultured lil fuck but he doesn’t show it because he mostly looks like a Southern Violent Brute, specially when he’s all scruffy and undone. It plays in his favor because people don’t expect his knack for strategy, though.
Smooth talker and it’s easy for him to charm people when it’s convenient. Unlike Malcolm and Ash, his siblings, he’s the voice, whereas they are the strength and also provide their own share of intellect.
Bored quickly, which is why many of his actual plans (very intricate, impressive things) aren’t carried out. Sometimes he doesn’t even bother writing them down.
Big spender, which is why his schemes have gotten greater. The more money, the more quality.
Commits crimes again for two things: money and fun.
Hot blooded, and lacks stability, another reason he leans back into his siblings.
I’d have to say the Becketts are not really good people. They’re very morally grey and value their freedom the most, and are pretty self centered. They’re all chaotic neutral, but Ash is the one scratching Chaotic Good at times. Not nearly enough, however, and she can be just as vicious if not more. She just has less far between moments of empathy with other people.
You could say Malcolm is the brawn. He’s clever, quick-thinking, straight to the point, blunt and loudly rebellious. Jackson and Ash are two sides of a coin being the brains. Jackson is good for ideas, Ash is good for developing them and anchoring Jack’s focus, and Malcolm is good for working them in practice.
Jackson would be more the face. He’s just as extroverted as Malc, but a bit more tactful and articulate and less prone to going right in on impulses (though he’s pretty impulsive anyway.)
Ash is the introvert of the group. She doesn’t like people too much, and only shows any sort of loyalty to his brothers and family; they’re home for her. She’s a good “technician”. She makes sure Jackson’s schemes are able to be carried out correctly. She networks to have cameras in a bank disconnected. She gets weapons and money. She’s a pretty damn good marksman too, and has skills in homemade bombs. She functions as the de facto getaway driver before anything, Malcolm and Jackson the ones working the heist in the inside.
They run a bar called The Sixty-Four because that’s the number of the street. It’s also inherited from their mom. Malcolm works as a bouncer, Jackson as a bartender and Ash as a waitress. They also got a few employees.
