This is my favorite place in Des Moines. My thinking place. I go to the bridge when I want to look at the city that shaped my life, my families life. My grandfather grew up down the street from this bridge. It was how his family got downtown. And for me know it’s where I go when I need to consider things that seem larger than I can handle.

Every time I look at lights twinkling in the cityscape at night, I think of the excessive use of electricity and power. How about we conserve some of that.
