Indiana District 5
Local politics incoming!
Indy Friendos! If you're in District 5 (like me) which includes Carmel, Noblesville, Fishers, Muncie, Anderson, Kokomo, and Marion and are even a teeny bit motivated to do SOMETHING amidst The Horrors™️, please look into donating to or volunteering for Jackson Franklin's Rep Campaign.
1) He's not a milquetoast centrist anti-right candidate. He's an outright progressive and has great platforms. 2) He's a serious candidate- currently has the most raised of any Dem for the district 3) Victoria Spartz (current rep) sucks. Her whole MO is pretending like she's a rational GOP holdout and then always votes in line last second. 4) He was my sister's neighbor & helped her search the neighborhood for her cat when she ran away 🥺
We're a year out from local elections. Especially after last night, I've been infused with hope. I've signed up to his mailing list for potential volunteer work. I highly, HIGHLY recommend doing the same and/or donating, especially if you feel otherwise helpless.
I am political, but I've never volunteered for a campaign before. But I feel so itchy with a desire to do SOMETHING to help my community that I feel like I'm about to jump out of my skin.
If you're in Indiana District 5 and you're nervous about volunteering alone, feel free to message me here. I'm looking to build local progressive community and action and am happy to help you coordinate! (I'm also signing up for volunteer shifts at local food pantries/banks and have been building unsheltered care kits as well.)
Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled art.
