hate when my favorite minor characters have minor storylines and minor impacts on the plot. I can't even be mad cause it's in the title. but still.

finally finished abbott elementary season 5 so now I can fully express my frustration with Jacob's character treatment...
he can't be the punching bag in every episode if he ALSO doesn't get plotline victories w/o a high degree of embarrassment and ALSO we don't get very much new lore abt him? he had a whole breakup AND get back together happen off screen? he still doesn't get his own room back? I'm glad they've set up this district plotline for season 6 but man it makes me sad :/
The breakup episode definitely cemented my headcannon that Jacob is a stress puker. Lmao.
I do think it's really funny the insights we've been given into Jacob's taste in music. Millennial emo/pop punk. Nightmare before Christmas. Sufjan Stevens. What a guy.
Maybe Melissa does see Jacob as a son, and her mean treatment of him is actually proof of this fact.
We know she grew up battling out being the favorite with her siblings. Maybe that’s just how she sees family. Maybe the way she’s treating Jacob and Caleb is how her parents treated their children. After all, Jacob doesn’t get the guest room either (“the guest room is for guests”).
Barbara riffing "we didn't start the fire" as if she didn't actively start a fire that onw episode lights me up every tiiiiiiime like, girl, yes tf✋🏾😭
