This was an exploration of what a cute little ghost companion might be like in Guild Wars 2
It's simply a skin based on the Jade Bots, but lots of cute wisps and cloaked shadows were used as inspiration to try and make them as cute as possible
Another skin for Guild Wars 2's Jade Bots. I was asked to create a ghost of some kind, and it was interesting to see how spooky or ghoulish
1600 GEMS???? SIXTEEN HUNDRED GEMS FOR A F1NAL FANTA5Y LOOKING-ASS JADE BOT SKIN YOU'D HARDLY SEE????
The skin is also apparently also only client-side, no one else will see the skin, PLEASE do not gouge yourself by spending 1600g on a cat jade bot you'll hardly even spot, this thing should be like mail carrier skin price if anything. Don't give them money for this and tell them this is okay. Be nice to yourself, buy two character slots or like 4 mount adopt licenses instead for the same damn price.
Yes, it's me again. Speedy jade bot review below, stream linked in source!
Trivia:
You unlock them pretty early through the story ("Being the commander should come with some perks" - Indigo)
Available in open world, some features also available in strikes/raids/fractals, WvW.
Jade bots use energy charges to interact with the world. These charges should be available on all canthan and other maps as well.
You can take direct control over the bot at specific locations only - currently a little limited (it's a new tech, they may change this later)
You can't hide people's jade bots, but only spawns in when you do something with it.
Usage requires lvl80. If you don't want to use it, you can unequip the power core. In some form will be available for people without the expansion too (because the power core gives a vitality boost and they did not want to lock people out of that).
They are not nameable (they are coded as skill animations, not at entities to not affect performance too much)
Mastery track:
Gliding booster: gives you an upward boost while gliding
Multicharge: you can get more energy charges.
Jade tech waypoint: you can place an extra (but consumable) waypoint anywhere in the open world (fairly lengthy cooldown as well).
Energy efficiency: you can get extra charges from batteries and ziplines.
Rescue protocol: replaces the bandage skill and revives you (10-minute cooldown).
Customization:
Power core: equips the jade bot and gives a vitality boost.
Sensory rays (will be available in endgame content and WvW too)
scavenger protocol - additional loot from enemies
recyclers - bots will scan for cheap junk items and recycles them into something more useful
turtle siege enhancer - boosts your damage done with the canons of the siege turtle (this one is just open world)
Service chips (unlocked with a lvl10 power core)
glider boost - enhances the upward boost you gain from the mastery track.
skiff supercharger - boosts your skiff's base speed.
rescue protocol recharge - reduces cooldown on the skill to 6 minutes.
treasure hunter protocol - scans and marks chests on your minimap (any maps, not just canthan ones).
