Jade Soong and Yank Se Chung, these two were part of the Asian Quarter storyline in the early 80′s. Jade was played by actress Tia Carrere who went on to Wayne’s World fame.

Here is an interesting fact: Chaing Wu (played by actor Aki Aleong) was a mob boss during the Asian Quarter story line. The Wu mob family was headed by Mr. Wu. He was part of a group that oppressed the workers on the waterfront cannery, forcing them to work for near slave wages as well as running an illegal drug running operation. He was also involved in the kidnapping of little Robin Scorpio. Looking for some valuable black pearls, he uses his grandson, Kim to find the girl and take the pearls, which were hidden in her doll. However, Kim was unsuccessful and the pearls end up in the hands of a man known as “The Ancient One”, who exchanges the pearls for cash and the Asian community purchases the cannery.

The Ancient One’s grandson Yank, falls in love with a girl named Jade Soong who is the granddaughter of Mr. Wu. Working with Sean Donnely to bring down Mr. Wu, Yank kills Kim, who had planned to blow up the cannery. Jade is devastated to learn that her lover has killed her brother, but soon forgives him when she learns the depths of her brother and grandfather’s crimes. Mr. Wu goes to jail and Jade and Yank marry, then leave Port Charles. The Asian Quarter storyline fades away.

The Wu Family returns in 2015 at a Mob summit in New York City called by Sonny Corinthos. A representative of the Wu Family named Ms. Wu was present.

Later, in a meeting of The Five Families, the senior member of the Wu family, Selina joins in, representing her families interests. Selina has become quite a presence in Port Charles, and uses her nephew Brad Cooper from time to time, having helped him get out of jail for kidnapping Wiley, Sonny Corinthos’ grandson. She has forged an uneasy truce with Sonny Corinthos and has brokered a deal with Curtis Ashford to run a poker game in the back of his club, The Savoy.

It is unclear as to how exactly Selina and Brad are related to Chaign Wu, but I think it would be fun to see a return of The Asian Quarter.
