Freshie (Freshwater Pearl):
Formerly made as one of the last Pearls from The Reef, I’d actually like to retcon this.
Freshie is still a Freshwater Pearl, made at The Reef, but now she’s one of many.
The Reef in my HC, is restored and is now a place where Shattered Gems from across the galaxy can be donated and put to rest, being repurpoused and pressurized to make NEW, FRESHWATER PEARLS.
This is something taken extremely seriously, and is an extremely sacred Gem Funeral Right. The reef becomes an icon of the Gem Renaissance, gaining a new reputation as a place of rebirth.
Freshwater Pearls are not like other Pearls. They are born to Create, and Discover, rather than to serve.
Freshie is an expert in Ancient Gem Magic, which she theorizes is born from The Five Elements, and is therefore ORGANIC in nature. She deeply believes this new and ancient magic are one. Her specialty element is Water.
She is given the special, sacred privilege of working with Gem Shards as part of her research into this Elemental magic.
Freshie is hired onboard the Starship of an Emerald and rare Golden Jadeite, acting as the hired Historian and Mystic on board.

Next, we have Goldie
Goldie was formerly a Spinel, But I’m changing that because I just.. don’t think a Spinel is the right gem for this fusion.
Goldie is now a Golden Jadeite.
In my HeadCanon, Jades are Yellow’s Pretty little Nepo babies, and Jadeites are like… The Scholarly ones of the bunch. Goldie herself had been hired to be Copilot and Astronomer aboard an Elete Starship.
Their education is in all things Astronomy. She studies Space, advising her Pilot Emerald on where they can travel to next. They travel between Homeworld, Earth, and Other Planets, working to explore and document this new harmonious Life, both Organic and Gem!

Gem Power/Item: A magical Telescope and constellation Projection from her gem.

Labradorite:
Freshie and Goldie board the Elite Starship, and quickly fall in love. They explore their options of Fusion, and find that they ADORE IT.
Their philosophy? There is an elemental Magic from every drop in every sea, to every star in every sky, and it is ORGANIC, and Gemkind can use it for good and not evil.
So, soon enough, they find themself researching how Gem Shards can be used to awaken Gemkind’s original Elemental magic, and therefore hope to open the door to Gemkind and Organic life becoming integrated as one.
Labradorite becomes a sort of pseudo-influencer, advocating for Fusion Rights, becoming a voice in this new Gem Renaissance. Labradorite genuinely believes if gems can control organic elements, then that organic magic comes from SOMEWHERE, and is STILL unlockable.
So, whether found in the copilot seat, meditating underwater surrounded by magical artifacts, or strolling along on the arm of a Rich Emerald, Labradorite is adoring this new Era of Gem Life!

Heliodor
Heliodor is the Fusion of Emerald, Freshie, and Goldie! While Labradorite finds it comforting to stay fused for long periods, Heliodor appears mostly for special occasions.
They’re a Paladin Knight of the Stars and Seas, and love making appearances for important diplomatic events!
