setting: the westerlands, soon after alicent hightower is struck with a bow and taken to receive medical care, laena quickly seeks out her brother, who she knows would be impact by what all witnessed ; @jaehaerysiitargaryen
context: laena is unaware that jaehaerys has just spoken to cedric regarding what happened and his wishes to take alicent to the crownlands.
lilac hues at the sight before her, alicent hightower, her own blood, too, running across the field, soon to strike a horse and collapse to the ground, an arrow piercing her. her immediate reaction was to look to her brother, who had certainly heard and witnessed what just occurred. the crowd gasped in unison, some jeering and shouting at alicent, and whilst laena knew she had committed many atrocities in her life, and recently with the murders of garland and simonetta hightower, she could not help, but simply feel sorry for the woman, a victim of her own circumstances, and perhaps one who would see justice come from her actions.
feet found themselves pacing down the alleyway below the tournaments grounds, it had taken her time to find her way around, but she felt entirely compelled to check on jaehaerys. he had been close to her, she knew. her own lady grandmother was also a dear friend of alicent’s, having been her lady and confidante. she was glad that she were at least not present to see what had happened.
laena found her brother having a heated discussion with his guards, surely trying to quickly find the culprit. where had she been? why had she found her way here, now? who loosened the arrow? all questions the seamstress asked herself, but she knew others would be moving mountains to find the answers to, and soon.
a guard announced her presence to jaehaerys and as the remainder around him took their leave, she bowed her head to her brother. “your grace.” laena stated formally, though she was aware they were are more personal terms than that, she would continue such formalities in the presence of others. “i came as soon as i could make my way here.” she added, brows furrowing in concern for the other. laena wanted to ask if he were alright, what she could do, but neither felt right to speak, and so she let him have charge of where the conversation, if he should wish to speak of any of it with her, right now. she simply wanted him to know she were here.
