"Whattya up to?" Jaejun asks, sneaking up on the waitress taking her break, finding her with an open book and a highlighter in hand while pouring over what looks like a ton of hand written notes. Jaejun himself is quite the contrast, what with his loud Tokyo-styled hairdo, the cartoonish frames he wears for glasses, and the pink lollipop set inside his mouth. He's not what you'd call best buds with the girl, but he'd like to change that! Thus his creeping in on her while she assumes she's alone.
Naeun startles at the sound of another voice so close, fumbling the highlighter in her grasp as her head whips around to find the speaker. The stray mark the highlighter leaves on her notes goes unnoticed when she spots the man behind her, and she blinks in surprise.
“Homework,” she finally replies, the word drawn out a bit, tone wary.
It’s far from unusual for a patron to try and strike up conversation with Naeun when she’s on her break. It’s even less eventful for one of them to sneak up on her in an attempt to surprise her, or flirt, or-- well. Whatever it is the clientele of the Carousel thinks it is they’ll get from her if they play their cards right. But that isn’t always the case, and the man behind her looks relatively harmless.
As if realizing that she’s still technically on the clock, she forces a smile.
“I’ve got a big test in the morning. I’m trying to cram a bit while I can.”
