At the edge of totality
March 20th marks special day for me when i could witness 100% solar eclipse. Early in the morning i realized how big of a dummy i am and forgot to prepare for it. Of course me wouldn’t be me if i didn’t deny all the warnings not to watch to the sun during solar eclipse. But what you can do i would make this sacrifice for all human kind and glance at least once. Although it was a bad idea considering that my left eye feels wonky and blurry.Today i had to use all my ingenuity to find the way i could witness this event by my own eyes. Thinking that i could use beer bottle or triple cover of sunglasses wasn’t the best choice when one of my friends who studies physics pointed out that it’s not how refraction works and invisible sun light still might damage my eyes. Trying to make device to reflect light and look to solar eclipse from it’s shadow didn’t work either considering that it’s not 19th century anymore. All my efforts went to shambles very fast. I was looking through window and realized that most of the people who were outside didn’t even know what is happening and that made me sad. This was maybe one of rare events in nature which you might not see ever again. But i have to say thanks to modern day technology and internet itself. I managed to witness total solar eclipse on live stream. Seeing how moon passes through sun and staying there for like 30 seconds made me feel this intense feeling. That kind of feeling you get only on rare ocasions of your life. I would say it was as equal as kissing beautiful woman or coming back home and finding all that delicious pie left just for you. I have to say in my life i haven’t seen many more beautiful things than corona of the sun and “diamond ring” which appears when moon starts moving away from the sun after 3rd contact. The edge of totality blurs out and cycle of solar eclipse ends
