It was a cold winter morning, with frost biting the air in every corner of the city. Sei sunk deeper into his fur coat, grumbling to himself about the weather. "Come on, we're almost there," Fuegoleon assured him, giving his hand a squeeze. "We'll be warmed up soon enough!"
Just as promised, the two finally arrived at the small coffee shop, nestled into a corner between two large buildings. One sniff of the air filled Sei's lungs with the sweet aroma of coffee. "I hope this place is good..."
"It will be! Lisa knows her coffee better than anyone."
"Sei! Fuegoleon!"
Just as they stepped inside, Lisa jumped up from her seat and rushed to greet them, almost spilling her mug of coffee. "I'm so glad you could make it!"
"Likewise, it's been too long, Lisa," Fuegoleon replied with a smile.
"Yeah, it's good to see you," Sei gave her a smile as well, removing a cold hand from his pocket and squeezing hers for a moment of greeting. "Is Julius here!"
"Yeah! Back here!"
Julius waved from where he sat, slightly crunched up to fit into the booth. "Come on over! Lisa will order you guys something!"
"Oh, that's not necessary-"
"I insist!" Lisa giggled before stepping back to let them by. "What do you guys like?"
Fuegoleon told her their orders before sliding across from Julius. "I'm glad we could all meet today... it's a cold one out there, isn't it?"
Sei nodded along with Julius. "It is!" the older man replied happily. "But you know, it's kind of nice... it makes the cup of coffee that much warmer, doesn't it?"
"Yes. Yes it does."
Sei felt Fuegoleon squeeze his hand, and looked up to see his husband staring down at him with a loving expression. Sei found himself smiling back as Lisa returned with their drinks.
"I suppose it does."
