I’m all about the Huntr/x gay agenda, but it makes me uncomfortable when people specifically sexualize how Mira and Zoey want to take Rumi to the bathhouse.

Like, I’ll chalk it up to cultural differences but…

Going to the bathhouse is a wholesome bonding experience that’s a metaphor for being vulnerable and honest. It’s like, familial community! There’s a reason that Mira, who felt like her family couldn’t accept her, said she’d FIGHT for the opportunity to take Rumi to the bathhouse. Because Rumi is part of her chosen family. That’s why it’s so beautiful when they do get to go! And Rumi’s patterns are visible! And they openly cry about how much they love each other!

—and you can take that love as romantic or platonic or however you’d like but in this specific context there’s nothing sexual about the bathhouse at all, and it’s……. Idk coming off as an ignorant kind of… fetishizing? like ethnocentrism??

You know what’s a weird thing I’m struggling to like, comprehend?

That idea of, “if I don’t write my idea, no one will!” When AI exists. Like, I could theoretically type in my idea and bang! It’s written.

It’s not MINE, but it started from my idea. I could probably tweak it if I wanted. Like, someone could put in the unfinished stories I have into ChatGPT and it would finish the stories for them. For me. It wouldn’t be my own completely, but it’d be done so much faster than I would do it. And I really am curious with what it’d look like. If not for the environmental impacts or unethical data mining it took to train the AI, then I’d be tempted just to see out of a vapid curiosity.

How horrible. But I can see why someone would want to do it. Because it’s not about living, it’s about consuming and immediacy. Getting a finished product. Output. Hit the like button and move on.

In the wake of that, it feels silly for me to be struggling typing one sentence after another, and rereading, and retyping, and editing at a snail’s pace when BOOM! I could be done…

But it wouldn’t be mine. Not my words, not my fully realized ideas, not my time, my heart, my mind. Not proof of my living and loving. It would be a mishmash of stolen things formed into something that looks like a part of me. Self indulgent junk.

Somewhat controversial statement for an InuKag fan

But I adore the before times when Inuyasha and Kagome are very much NOT in love—when they don’t even like each other, they barely tolerate one another, they only HAVE to work together.

Hot take, but they should’ve done a live action Korra instead of trying to do the gaang.

1. Older protags! Easier to cast older actors w/o too much stress over their aging.

2. Not as well-loved/sacred to the fandom. Some characters can be tweaked without it causing major character assassination and uproar.

3. Grittier setting.

4. Darker and more political nuance would translate well to live action and would appeal to more mature audiences naturally, instead of stripping the joy and lightheartedness of the original series.

5. You still get to see the gaang in flashbacks and older versions.
