Fly Vocabulary: Just Another Fly on the Wall
Here is a list of some vocabulary that flies use in my WIP, JAFW.
The Great Valley: the sink (another term, perhaps one from a different generation - I haven't decided the difference)
Home: any place they can go undisturbed from humans
The Giants of Death: humans
The Great Barrier: walls and doors
The Invisible Barrier: glass (usually like sliding glass doors but it can also be used for windows or glass topped tables)
The Noise (or Sound) of Doom: garbage disposals
Wriggle Tots: an affectionate term for maggots (think like how humans use the term kiddo)
Blissful Scent: the smell of rotting food, especially rotting meats
The Slapping Purger: fly swatter
The Great Fliers: flies that have survived a human trying to kill them off
The Luring Burn: boiling water laced with something that attracts flies
Makeup/Coverup: room spray (like when a person uses room spray to mask a bad smell)
Rainfall: when you're caught flying near the face of a crying human
There will be more added as I continue. I'm still trying to think of how a fly would refer to their father and I try to make the terms sound as fly-like as I can, so I've been taking my time on that one (so it's not like flies have a special term for mothers and not fathers)... if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. (:
Anyway, @writingonesdreams asked me to tag them to this and I'll also tag @lordkingsmith even though you've seen almost all of these (I did add a couple more since I sent you the last photo of terms).
If anyone wants to be added to a taglist for this wip, please feel free to let me know. (: and if you have any other term suggestions, again I'm all ears. It doesn't mean I'll use them but I'd be happy to hear them in case I do want to use them.
