Ok so this is a kinda random mini fic thing I just came up with cause I can't stop thinking about them. It's not edited all that well so sorry about that, it's from Gregory's pov it's a bit simple but eh read it if you'd like:
It had to be the alcohol, that was what Gregory thought as he drank with Janine at the bar. The alcohol was what was making him feel comfortable and lighter about his break up with Amber. It couldn’t possibly be because of this beautiful woman next to him who was making him feel ok with being weird in a world made him feel bad about that. Janine was a lot of things to him a great friend, great teacher, and a ball of sunshine. She really made his day whenever he came to work with her bright optimism and nerdiness that he could relate to. Gregory always felt like he could talk to her about anything and he will admit to himself and himself alone that he developed a crush on her.
It was getting even stronger now though, he couldn't remember the last time he had this much fun in a place as silly as a photo booth. Gregory wanted to stay like this, stay with her for as long as he could. Was it the alcohol telling him to sneak into the flower classroom to make her happy? It could be.
It was just his heart that was beating though when Janine confessed that the growth of the flowers was exactly what she loved about teaching. It reminded him of how he grew to love gardening again after it being exhausting due to how strict his father was. The flowers reminded him of something else too, blooming; how his relationships at the school have bloomed especially with Janine.
Janine, who had unexpectedly crawled into his life and helped make it better, who he wanted to help if she needed guidance or just a friend. Janine wasn't that though, she wasn't just a friend he had wanted more for a while now and he had denied it for far to long.
It wasn't that alcohol that prompted his next choice he knew that for sure, knelling there with her face to face he knew he was going to kiss her. Her beautiful eyes and soft smile drew him in more than usual. Kissing her was pure bliss and she didn't pull away in fact she pulled him in and it was perfect. It was for less than a minute but it felt like there was nothing pushing them away anymore. He was her's and she was his and that was all that mattered. Gregory didn’t want it to stop he wanted to hold her close, run his fingers through her hair and whisper sweet nothings on her ear. All great things must come to an end though and it did.
It pained him the next day that they pretended like it never happened because drinks or no drinks he knew there was something there. Lying about his feelings wasn't ideal but they weren't in a comfort bubble anymore where anything he wants could happen. He couldn't take her out on a date and kiss her until she was dizzy or watch her favourite movies wth her.
Was it wrong that he wanted to make her feel wanted and loved?
No it wasn’t.
There was an issue that he was sadly ignoring though she was dating his best friend Maurice. He felt frustrated Maurice was a good guy and he felt guilty but he had something special with Janine. Gregory would be thinking about that kiss for weeks but maybe it was for the best that things were simple now. Janine was happy with Maurice and that's all he wanted for her and that's worth the pain of not being able to be with her.
Right?
Thanks for reading!
