At minicamp, Lamar joked about you coming here…the next day it happened. How much did that really play into it?

I mean, that's my boy, you know, like, first name, last name basis, like, you know, so, you know, it's funny, we was always talking about this, you know, so, it's crazy how God works and brought us together, so, I mean, I'm happy.

Would you have wanted to come here if he wasn’t on the team?

Ahhh…That'd be tough, man, like, I probably would explore more options, but that's my boy and I want to win one with him.

He was testing you a little bit yesterday, first day back out there. What was it like to be on the field with him again?

Who? [Lamar] Yeah, he threw a back shoulder. He tried to throw a back shoulder on me with D-Hop. So I had to give him a little jazz about that. I said, come on, man, I know it's my first day, but man, it's still me. You know what I mean, it's still me. But it's always fun and we can joke like that.

sitting here going half crazy. also LMFAOOO basically he was like no i really wouldn’t have come if not for him 😗. imagine an aquarium part two #KIDDING. anyway. anyway…..head in hands.

cannot get the idea out of my head of Jaire after he gets released, taking his time, getting offers from some other teams but turning them down because they don’t feel right, they’re not what he really wants. And he’s waiting.

And then, after a couple weeks, he comes across Lamar’s press conference, watches it, and all the dreams and ambitions and feelings that came with their time in college together start resurfacing. And before he knows it he’s packing his bags for Baltimore.

(also not related, but I remembered recently that Derrick Henry said earlier this year in an interview that he wanted to retire in Baltimore, as a Raven. And how powerful must that have been for Lamar to hear if he did hear it, that this guy who you’ve only been teammates with for a year wants to spend the rest of his career here, with you.)

exactly. and yk i was thinking like. not that i hop on the analyzing lamar's socmed activity train but he had posted some funny meme the morning jaire was released LMFAOOOOOO. it actually maybe didn't mean anything lol.

but Anyway. i imagine it's like he gets released and within the day lamar is calling him. i think it's a lot of...vague pleasantries but also be serious you know why he is calling and why you picked up (you've discussed this before!!!! wishful thinking but look!! it's here. it could be real) lamar is finally like well okay?? so now what are we doing? and jaire (already thinking of the number 8 and purple lights) like well hollon i'm just weighing my options and shit....lamar is just like girl whatever 🙄🙄 and hanging up (it will all work out in the end. what's meant to be is meant to be.)

and so jaire does try and take it seriously of course....talks w his agent meeting w teams etc etc. but like deep down he knows where his heart is and where he wants to be so when he sees lamar's presser it's really just a deal breaker.....he's sold. BANG!
