Jake Fried:  New Work

In my opinion.  Jake Fried is one of the most interesting artists working today, in any medium.  His animation style is unique and mesmerizing.  Here he makes a little movie for his new daughter.  Very sweet, and still very Jake Fried.

His Instagram Page is a great place to view his work.  And you can see pictures of his daughter playing with cards he printed out from this animation.

Jake Fried: Painter, Animator

Jake Fried started as a painter, then became an animator.  He initially animated his paintings and collages by hand, but has recently been creating them with software. He is a teacher at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design and also the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.  His animations have been used in commercials and the opening of television shows and his short films have won many awards. His work is chaotic and beautiful and has relentless energy in which imagery flows from one frame to the next in the most amazing way.
