As everyone knows, Marina Shafir was assaulted by an asshole in the AEW gym a few years back. Luckily and thankfully, Marina is such a tough bitch, she managed to beat the shit out of the guy. Now, the identity of the guy is never revealed by Marina, although we can make an educated guess.

I feel Marina should've told them (AEW) about the incident. I guess she didn't want to make a fuss about it because she was capable of handling the problem by herself. The guy is no longer working in AEW, and Marina said that he was a former MMA fighter.

Some fans guessed it was CMPunk because of his history of trying to choke a fellow wrestler, but it seems it was actually Jake Hager. Jake Hager was asked why he ended up leaving AEW. Jake Hager revealed that he left AEW because he felt disrespected during contract negotiations. But everyone guessed that he was an asshole.

Nobody liked him in the AEW, and I do wish Roderick Strong also beat the shit out of him in a dark alley, but obviously, he couldn't do that.

A year after he left AEW, Hager started talking shitty towards Tony Khan, calling him a communist and confessing that he is a Trumper, expressing his hate towards his former boss for being anti-Trump. Of course, he's stupid for calling a billionaire a communist. Tony Khan never liked Hager, and the only reason why he was hired was because of Chris Jericho, who asked him to be in the company.

I seriously feel that they shouldn't hire anyone just because a fellow wrestler wanted his friend to be in the company, even knowing that the wrestler is a problematic person.

That is why I was a bit disappointed that Marina wanted to have Rhonda Rousey in AEW. She is a problematic person, a transphobe, and generally disliked by other wrestlers. But she is Marina's bff.

I am glad that she only had one appearance and then was never mentioned again after the plan for having her fight Toni Storm went kaput. I guess that Toni wanted to have a well-deserved break after leading AEW for almost two years, and wouldn't give everyone the satisfaction of fighting Rousey.

Now, I am happy that Tony is actually a fair person (at least from what I see), that he doesn't mind working with some people from different politica spectrum, such as conservatives like Kamille, because I think he has a myopic view about wrestlers that he only judges from their wrestling ability, as long they are not being a poisonous cancer backstage and on the social media.

BUT... the point of this post is this: stop hiring wrestlers who are problematic just because they're friends with the talent, willy-nilly. There is such a thing as an audition. I might talk about this later, about how the audition worked in a wrestling company. Especially now, there was a massive release from the other company, and many fans want certain wrestlers to be hired by AEW (like Malakai Black/Zelina Vega).

This is where I want to say that Tony and the rest of the company need to be cautious when hiring wrestlers, even when they're fan favorites, because we don't know what kind of people they are hiring for real. Just... take a deep breath before making a decision.
